Crewe, 7 August 2025 – Bentley Motors has unveiled the first production example of the Batur Convertible, a truly one-of-a-kind open-air grand tourer that represents the pinnacle of bespoke automotive craftsmanship. Hand-built by Mulliner, Bentley’s revered coachbuilding division, this debut model is a dramatic showcase of power, individuality, and attention to detail—crafted in close collaboration with a discerning client.
The Batur Convertible is not only the most powerful drop-top Grand Tourer in Bentley’s history—with its 740 bhp W12 engine—but also one of the most visually arresting creations ever to leave the gates at Crewe.
A Statement in Opalite and Mandarin
The first Batur Convertible is finished in Opalite, a shimmering silver paint that shifts with the light, accented by a bold gloss Beluga racing stripe flanked by vibrant Mandarin pinstripes. This stripe runs uninterrupted from the front grille over the bonnet and into the rear deck, intersecting with an elegant Bentley wings badge and a matching embroidered detail on the rear tonneau. Every line is purposeful, every surface exquisitely crafted, delivering visual dynamism that mirrors the car’s phenomenal performance.
The bold contrast continues in the five-spoke alloy wheels, which carry the same Beluga and Mandarin theme, while the matrix grille, finished in gloss black with Mandarin highlights, lends a fierce edge to the face of this ultra-exclusive grand tourer.
Interior Artistry: The ‘One Plus One’ Concept
If the exterior hints at racing pedigree, the interior brings performance-focused luxury to life with a concept Bentley calls ‘One Plus One’—a dual-personality cabin that visually separates the driver and passenger zones.
On the driver’s side, the cockpit is wrapped in Beluga black hide and Alcantara, with Mulliner’s signature Batur pattern appearing on seat bolsters and door inserts, elegantly stitched in Mandarin and Linen. A band of Mandarin hide flows seamlessly from the centre console, across the fascia and under the waistrail—creating an immersive, cockpit-like environment.
In contrast, the passenger side is a sanctuary of Linen hide and Alcantara, accented again by Mandarin stitching. The result is a bold, symmetrical design that underscores the bespoke nature of the Batur Convertible, with every detail considered and every surface telling its own story.
Even the rear luggage compartment continues the theme: it houses a two-piece luggage set, each crafted to match the interior schemes—one in Beluga, the other in Linen.

Precision in Every Detail
The owner’s vision has been realised down to the finest details. The fascia and door waistrails are executed in a satin black engine spin finish, while the centre console features gloss Beluga veneer. Instrument bezels are Beluga, with light titanium dials offering a striking visual contrast.
The steering wheel blends Beluga and Linen leather with Mandarin cross-stitching and a machined titanium Top Dead Centre marker, a detail echoed across the car—from gearshift paddles and organ stop vents to the rotary controls and illuminated Batur-branded treadplates.
Monterey Car Week: The Next Chapter
Following its dynamic debut as Car Zero at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the Batur Convertible now heads stateside to Monterey Car Week, where enthusiasts will see it finished in a striking Vermilion Gloss over Vermilion Satin. The car continues to affirm its place as the third member of Mulliner’s exclusive Coachbuilt family, following the Bacalar barchetta and the original Batur coupé.
The Pinnacle of Personalised Performance
Limited to an ultra-small production run, each Batur Convertible will be as unique as its owner. Bentley’s Mulliner design team co-creates every car with clients, using a proprietary visualiser that allows limitless combinations of colours, materials, and finishes.
And yet, beneath every bespoke flourish lies the heart of a beast: Bentley’s iconic 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged W12, delivering 740 bhp of sheer power—making the Batur Convertible not just a rolling sculpture, but the ultimate open-air expression of grand touring performance.
This first Batur Convertible sets a new standard for individuality, design, and open-top motoring excellence—a future classic born from the art of collaboration.
