A masterclass in craftsmanship, colour, and Californian inspiration
(Crewe, 29 October 2025) — Bentley Rancho Mirage has become the first retailer to take delivery of the striking new ‘Ombré by Mulliner’ Collection, a trio of bespoke commissions showcasing the brand’s most complex paint technique to date. The collection unites a Continental GT, Continental GTC and Flying Spur, each adorned with a seamless transition between two distinctive hues — a finish that exemplifies Mulliner’s artistry and Bentley’s pursuit of perfection.
The collection introduces three exclusive duotone combinations: Sunburst Gold blending into Orange Flame for the Continental GTC, Tungsten merging into Onyx for the Flying Spur, and Topaz fading into Windsor Blue for the Continental GT. Each pairing reflects the spirit of California’s landscapes, capturing the light, texture and emotion that define its horizons.
The Art of Ombré
Derived from the French word meaning “to shade,” the Ombré technique represents one of Bentley’s most intricate and meticulous paint processes. Each fade requires nearly 60 hours of handwork, with two expert craftsmen at the Bentley Dream Factory in Crewe applying the paint in multiple layers to achieve a flawless gradient. The transition runs through the car’s midsection — doors, sills and roof — with an exceptional level of precision to maintain symmetry and visual harmony across the bodywork.
Every colour behaves differently under application, meaning the process demands instinctive artistry and technical mastery. The result is a surface that appears almost fluid under changing light, expressing Bentley’s dedication to individuality and creative excellence.
Harmony Inside and Out
The artistry continues within. Each model’s interior mirrors its exterior finish, with the cabin gradually shifting in tone from front to rear. Bespoke hides, hand-stitched with accent piping in paint-matched colours, create a perfect dialogue between surface and shade.
For the Continental GTC Speed — the first Convertible ever to receive the Ombré treatment — the gradient of Sunburst Gold into Orange Flame draws inspiration from Monument Valley and the Painted Desert, where sunlight transforms sandstone into waves of gold and crimson. The cabin follows suit, with the front finished in Sunburst Gold hide, blending to vivid Orange towards the rear. Tangerine accents and pinstriping highlight the details, enhancing the Convertible’s exuberant, open-air personality.
The Continental GT Speed, fading from bright Topaz to deep Windsor Blue, evokes the Pacific coastline surrounding Monterey — a natural fit for the car that debuted during The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering. Inside, Topaz leather gives way to Ocean Blue, accented by Dragon Fly stitching, capturing the movement of sunlight across water.
Completing the trio, the Flying Spur Speed transitions from metallic Tungsten to rich Onyx, mirroring the twilight skies over Southern California. The cabin continues the play of light and shadow, with Porpoise leather at the front and Anthracite to the rear, while Stratos accent stitching adds a subtle luminosity. It’s a study in duality — serene luxury balanced with assertive performance.

A Dealer’s Vision Realised
Jason Cammisa, Managing Director of Bentley Rancho Mirage, described the collection as a reflection of the dealership’s mission to push creative boundaries:
“As one of the largest dealers in the US, our objective is to showcase aspects of Bentley that our customers may not have experienced before. Our ambition was to pioneer this innovative paint process in collaboration with Mulliner, presenting our customers with something truly special and creatively distinctive. This technique had never been attempted before at Bentley, and seeing the exceptional result has inspired our customers to explore the limitless opportunities for bespoke personalisation the brand offers.”
Colour as Craft
To ensure complete harmony, even the 22-inch ten-spoke swept wheels receive a bespoke paint application, matching the dual-tone fade of each car. Satin Beluga veneers, found on the centre console, instrument panel and treadplate carriers, provide a tactile finish and visual continuity between interior and exterior design elements.
Nature, light and craftsmanship converge in this latest expression of Mulliner’s bespoke artistry. Each Ombré creation stands as both a technical triumph and an artistic statement — a modern interpretation of Bentley’s enduring balance between performance, presence and poise.
The ‘Ombré by Mulliner’ specification is now available to order through Bentley’s global retailer network, offering discerning customers around the world the opportunity to create a masterpiece in motion — one that fades beautifully from imagination into reality.
