A Unique Expression of Automotive Luxury
(Crewe, 11 March 2025) – Bentley Motors has revealed an extraordinary customer commission, showcasing the pinnacle of bespoke craftsmanship and luxury in automotive design. Named The Black Rose, this exceptional Batur is one of only three right-hand-drive models and embodies the seamless fusion of cutting-edge technology and artisanal expertise.
Crafted through Bentley’s Mulliner division, The Black Rose represents the most personalised expression of grand touring luxury, demonstrating the limitless possibilities available through the marque’s co-creation commissioning process. This latest masterpiece takes exclusivity to unprecedented heights with the first-ever use of three-dimensional printed solid rose gold in an automotive interior.
A Bespoke Design Inspired by Rose Gold
The exterior of The Black Rose is a testament to Mulliner’s dedication to unique finishes. The vehicle boasts a bespoke Black Rose metallic paint, specially developed for this commission, with a deep gloss Beluga upper body. Accentuating its refined silhouette are satin Rose Gold highlights, gracing the front grille, ‘endless bonnet line’ brightware, mirror caps, lower body kit, and striking 22-inch tri-tone wheels. These surround an advanced carbon ceramic braking system with sleek black calipers, seamlessly blending performance with unparalleled aesthetics.
Inside, a symphony of dark luxury materials creates a perfect canvas for the brilliance of rose gold embellishments. The cabin is enveloped in rich Beluga leather, charcoal grey tweed fabric, and Black Rose-painted veneers that harmonise with the vehicle’s exterior theme. However, the centrepiece of the interior is Bentley’s pioneering use of 3D-printed 18-karat rose gold, appearing in key driver touchpoints, including the Drive Mode Selector, Organ Stop vent controls, and a steering wheel insert marker. This is an automotive industry first, showcasing the convergence of traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge additive manufacturing.

Innovation Meets Sustainable Luxury
Bentley’s commitment to sustainable luxury is at the core of The Black Rose. In a groundbreaking collaboration with master goldsmiths Cooksongold, Bentley has sourced the rose gold from 100% recycled jewellery, reinforcing the brand’s pledge to be end-to-end carbon neutral by 2035. Each 3D-printed gold component is hallmarked in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter, ensuring authenticity and a legacy of excellence. Furthermore, any parts produced in 2022 feature the rare Jubilee hallmark, commemorating Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee year.
Bentley’s investment in additive manufacturing (AM) at its Crewe factory, totalling £3 million, has doubled its AM capacity, allowing for innovative, bespoke designs while maintaining an environmentally conscious approach to luxury car manufacturing.
The Mulliner Legacy: The Art of Commissioning
Mulliner has long been synonymous with automotive artistry, from crafting bespoke bodies in the Roaring Twenties to shaping the most exclusive Bentleys of the modern era. Today, it remains at the forefront of customer personalisation, enabling clients to tailor every aspect of their vehicle to their exacting preferences. The Black Rose exemplifies this philosophy, demonstrating how Bentley’s Coachbuilt division transforms imagination into reality.
With just 18 Baturs in existence, each represents an individual expression of its owner’s vision. The success of the Batur coupe has inspired further exclusivity, leading to the creation of the Batur Convertible—the most powerful W12-powered drop-top Grand Tourer in Bentley’s storied history, limited to just 16 units.
A New Standard in Bespoke Luxury
The Black Rose is not merely a car; it is a statement of individuality and craftsmanship, a testament to Bentley’s relentless pursuit of innovation, sustainability, and exclusivity. With the unprecedented use of 3D-printed solid rose gold, alongside a breathtakingly curated design, this remarkable Batur stands as an icon of modern coachbuilding, redefining what is possible in the world of ultra-luxury grand touring.
