Crewe, 15 August 2025 – Bentley Motors has unveiled one of its most ambitious and visually striking bespoke finishes to date: Ombre by Mulliner. Revealed on a one-of-one Continental GT Speed at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering during Monterey Car Week, the new paint process represents a pinnacle of craftsmanship, artistry, and technical innovation from Bentley’s Mulliner division.
56 Hours of Craftsmanship
At the heart of Ombre is a full-body paint fade that requires more than 56 hours of meticulous handcrafting by Bentley’s master paint technicians at the Dream Factory in Crewe, England. The process begins with the car sprayed in its two contrast colours at either end. Layer by layer, tinted paint blends are then applied using traditional mixing techniques, creating a seamless transition across the bodywork.
Because each pigment behaves differently, technicians must continually adapt during the process, working by eye to ensure an uninterrupted gradient. This painstaking approach guarantees that no two cars will ever be identical, while every example achieves what Bentley describes as a “perfect fade to the naked eye.”

The Debut: A Continental GT Speed
The first showcase of this technique graces the new Continental GT Speed, where the car’s body transitions from Topaz at the nose to Windsor Blue at the rear. The effect is most pronounced through the centre section, echoing the dramatic sweep of the car’s muscular haunch line. Even the 22-inch ten-spoke swept wheels mirror the bodywork, with the forward set finished in Topaz and the rear in Windsor Blue.
An Interior to Match
Inside, Mulliner’s Bespoke Studio has curated an equally captivating environment, echoing the Ombre philosophy. The front of the cabin is finished in bespoke Topaz hides, enveloping the seats, steering wheel, and instrument panel, before fading into the darker tone of Beluga towards the rear. Accents of Dragonfly have been woven through the cabin in stitching and piping, adding definition and depth to the graded theme.
Surfaces are finished in Satin Beluga-painted veneers across the instrument panel, console, and treadplate carriers. Technology and luxury are seamlessly integrated, with Bentley’s Rotating Display, the Naim for Bentley audio system, and the Dark Chrome Interior Specification enhancing the contemporary yet timeless atmosphere.
A New Level of Bespoke
Ombre by Mulliner is now available to order through Bentley’s global retailer network in three curated colour combinations. While the process is exacting, the result is nothing short of spectacular: a rolling piece of art that demonstrates the lengths to which Mulliner can personalise a commission.
By marrying technical precision with the creativity of traditional craftsmanship, Ombre stands as a testament to Bentley’s ongoing pursuit of excellence in design and bespoke luxury.
