The countdown has begun for one of the most anticipated automotive events of the year as BAIC South Africa prepares to officially unveil the all-new BAIC B30 SUV at a national launch in Johannesburg this November. Following its debut at the Festival of Motoring 2025, where it generated significant media attention and consumer interest, the B30 is now set to make its formal introduction to South African dealers, partners, and the press.
The launch will showcase the full B30 model range, including both 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol and hybrid variants, highlighting BAIC’s latest advancements in performance, design, and intelligent mobility.
“The Johannesburg launch marks an important milestone for BAIC in South Africa,” said Ameena Hassan, Brand & PR Manager at BAIC South Africa. “It’s not only the introduction of a new model but the beginning of a new chapter for the brand, one that combines versatility, smart technology, and local investment.”
Designed for South African Lifestyles
The BAIC B30 is engineered to meet the demands of South African families and professionals seeking a balance between everyday comfort and adventurous capability. Its 215 mm ground clearance ensures confident handling across a variety of road conditions, while advanced driver-assist features and a 14.6-inch infotainment system provide modern convenience and connectivity.
The hybrid variant pushes the boundaries further, delivering a combined 301 kW output with all-wheel-drive capability, positioning the B30 as one of the most powerful hybrid SUVs in its class. Whether navigating urban streets or venturing off the beaten path, the B30 promises a driving experience that is both refined and exhilarating.
An Interactive Experience
Guests attending the Johannesburg launch will enjoy a fully interactive product reveal, featuring on-site displays, dynamic demonstrations, and immersive design showcases. The event will also provide insight into BAIC’s local assembly plans at the Coega facility in Gqeberha, a move that reinforces the brand’s growing commitment to the South African market.
“We’re incredibly proud of what the B30 represents for BAIC South Africa,” Hassan added. “It’s modern, refined, and built for real South African conditions. We can’t wait to share it with the public.”
