Audi has announced a comprehensive update to its A3 and S3 model ranges, significantly elevating their design, technological capabilities, and material quality to align closer with the luxury standards of their upper-class counterparts. The refreshed Audi A3 Sportback and Saloon, along with their high-performance S3 variants, have been launched with a modernized aesthetic, enhanced lighting systems, and a luxuriously updated cabin. These new models, now available for order in the UK, start at £32,035 for the A3 and £46,925 for the S3, with the first deliveries expected to begin in early May.
Andrew Doyle, Director of Audi UK, highlighted the brand’s ongoing commitment to innovation and excellence since the A3’s debut in the mid-nineties. “With each iteration, especially with the fourth generation launched in 2020, we’ve refined our concept. These latest updates push the boundaries further, enhancing every aspect of the vehicle, from performance to passenger comfort,” Doyle stated.
The launch includes a selection of engine choices for the updated A3 models. Initially available are the 35 TFSI and 35 TDI engines, both 1.5-litre petrol and 2.0-litre diesel variants respectively, producing 150PS and seamlessly integrated with a seven-speed S tronic automatic transmission. Customers can choose from three existing trim levels—Sport, S line, and Black Edition—all of which have received substantial upgrades in this iteration.
The exterior design of the new models features a wider, slimmer Singleframe grille without a frame, giving the cars a more contemporary and sleek appearance. The Audi rings have also been redesigned to be flush and two-dimensional, now prominently displayed on the grille and tailgate. Additional exterior enhancements include a new bumper and rear diffuser design inspired by the RS 3, and an array of new wheel designs and color options such as Arkona White and Ascari Blue.

Inside, the A3 and S3 showcase new fabric choices and inlays, redesigned air vents, and an updated S tronic gear shift lever, enhancing the tactile and visual quality. The cabin’s functionality is augmented by an expanded three-zone climate control system, advanced parking sensors, and an array of technological enhancements. These include the Audi phone box for wireless inductive phone charging, the upgraded Audi virtual cockpit plus, and a new onboard Audi app store which integrates popular third-party apps directly into the MMI touch display.
In addition to interior and exterior updates, the A3 and S3 models incorporate ‘Functions on Demand’—a feature allowing owners to add specific capabilities via the myAudi app even post-purchase. At launch, options like adaptive cruise control and high beam assist will be available, offering flexibility in customization.
The performance-tuned S3 receives a significant boost with its 2.0 TFSI engine now producing 333PS and 420Nm of torque, the most powerful in its history. It also introduces a torque splitter on the rear axle to enhance handling dynamics. The S sports suspension, standard on the S3, lowers the car by 15mm compared to the standard A3, further enhancing its sporty driving feel.
The refreshed models also benefit from updated optional packages that add even greater value. The Technology Pack and Technology Pack Pro include features such as a reversing camera, head-up display, and advanced adaptive cruise assist, enhancing both convenience and safety.
With these updates, Audi continues to reinforce its leadership in the premium compact car segment, offering a blend of performance, luxury, and technological sophistication that pushes the boundaries of what is expected in its class.
