HERNDON, Va., May 5, 2014 – Audi R8 LMS customer racing cars finish a strong 2nd, 5th and 6th at TUDOR United SportsCar race at Laguna Seca in GTD class

In an exciting race that came down to fuel strategies, the #48 Paul Miller Racing Audi R8 LMS took 2nd place at the hands of Christopher Haase in the TUDOR United SportsCar race at Laguna Seca. Bryce Miller ran the first stint working his way up the field before Christoper Haase took over driving consistently impressive lap times to land on the podium.

“We’re very excited to have gotten the 2nd place finish and I’m proud of the team for a job well done,” said Paul Miller, owner of Paul Miller Racing and the Paul Miller Audi dealership in Parsippany, NJ. “We hope to continue to build upon our success on the track and to bring the excitement into our showroom for our customers.”

The pole sitter, Spencer Pumpelly, of Flying Lizard ran a fantastic race holding an eleven second lead entering the final lap. Sadly, the #45 Flying Lizard ran out of fuel half way through the last lap coasting across the finish line in 6th place.

The #35 Flying Lizard, driven by Seth Neiman and Dion von Moltke, ran a solid race finishing 5th. Dion von Moltke who has consistently proven to be very quick had the fastest lap of the race.

The #46 Fall-Line Audi R8 LMS was forced to retire following a spin into the sand causing a gear box issue when trying to get back on the track.

The Audi R8 LMS shares more than 50% of its parts with the Audi R8 street car including the naturally aspirated 5.2 Liter V10 engine, the Audi Space Frame and a variety of other components. Having won all of the major races around the world, owners of the Audi R8 street car can be confident in its race-tested performance and durability. Of great benefit to the race teams is the first service interval at 12,000 miles under race conditions which translates into lower operating costs and excellent durability.

The next race will be held in Detroit, MI at Belle Isle on May 30th-31st, 2014.
