Audi has unveiled its future in the form of the Concept C, an open-top roadster that brings radical simplicity, technical elegance, and unmistakable Audi DNA to life. The concept car made its UK debut at an exclusive London event, hosted by Audi’s Chief Creative Officer, Massimo Frascella, offering an intimate glimpse of the brand’s next design era.
Radical Simplicity at the Heart of Design
“Radical simplicity is the core of Audi’s new design philosophy,” says Frascella. “True clarity is achieved by reducing everything to the essential — the Concept C is the first manifestation of a new design language that feels intuitive, confident, and unmistakably Audi.”
Every surface, line, and curve of the Concept C embodies this ethos. By stripping away excess, Audi has created a form that is instantly readable, confident, and elegant, without compromising the brand’s technical sophistication. The car’s aesthetic balances emotion with precision, hinting at the design DNA that will define future models.
Inspired by the Past, Designed for Tomorrow
Audi’s legacy of innovation is woven throughout the Concept C. From the legendary Ur-quattro to the TT coupe and R8 V8, the brand has consistently pushed boundaries in technology and design. The Concept C continues this tradition, linking iconic heritage with a vision of the future.
A striking reinterpretation of the Singleframe grille takes centre stage. Drawing inspiration from the Auto Union Type C of 1936, the new vertical frame grille conveys authority and presence, flanked by headlights featuring four horizontally arranged elements, a nod to Audi’s ongoing commitment to design innovation.
Precision and Clarity Inside
The Concept C’s interior mirrors its exterior philosophy. Radical simplicity continues within, with anodized aluminium surfaces, geometric forms, and elegant detailing creating a cabin that prioritizes both tactility and quality. Physical controls, crafted from anodized aluminium, complement haptic elements on the round steering wheel, combining technical precision with human-centred design.
For the first time in an Audi roadster, the Concept C features a retractable folding hardtop. When raised, the sculpted form remains undisturbed; when lowered, it transforms into an open-top experience at the push of a button — seamlessly combining aesthetics and functionality.
A London Debut to Remember
The UK premiere took place at Piccadilly Circus’s innovative event space, Below The Lights, renowned for its immersive digital experiences. A 14-metre-wide LED display highlighted the Concept C’s craftsmanship and detailing, creating a dramatic interplay between physical presence and digital storytelling.
“London is a city built on innovation,” says Audi UK Director José Miguel Aparicio. “Hosting the Concept C here underscores Audi’s ambition to set new benchmarks in premium design. Following its public debut at the IAA Munich, the roadster represents our next step in redefining luxury, performance, and design.”
Looking Ahead
With the Concept C, Audi signals a pivotal shift in design philosophy — a move towards clarity, emotional intelligence, and unmistakable presence. It is more than a concept car; it is a declaration of intent, a vision for the next generation of Audi vehicles that balances heritage, innovation, and technical artistry.
As Audi continues to refine its future models, the Concept C stands as a promise: radical simplicity, precision engineering, and a bold new design language, all ready to shape the roads of tomorrow.
