Aston Martin specialist Aston Workshop will make its Footman James Classic Motor Show debut this year. Held at Birmingham’s NEC from 16th to 18th November, Aston Workshop will bring an amazing display of Aston Martins’ including a stunning 1956 DB2/4 MKII and a 1967 DB6 MK1.
At the London Motor Show in 1955, Aston Martin updated their 2+2 known as the DB2/4 into the MKII. At first glance similar to its predecessor, this model came with many detail changes, the roof line was raised, which was highlighted by a chrome strip, the side panels of the bonnet remain fixed and it had two mini tailfins housing new taillights.
Just 199 examples of the DB2/4 MKII were made, making this a most rare and sought after model from the classic Aston Martin range. This particular car is in the final stages of a ground up Aston Workshop restoration.
The DB6 is a classic Aston Martin from the golden period of Aston production. It was developed with a view to making an Aston that was more usable day-to-day. The emphasis was on more room for all, making it ideal for those wishing to share the pleasure of classic Aston Martin ownership with family or friends. At the same time, no compromise was made in terms of performance or handling, ensuring that the DB6 adheres to the Aston Martin core values of luxury and performance combined with stunning looks.
This particular DB6 MKI was subject to a full, body off restoration in 2009 by Aston Workshop and has covered only 3000 miles since. This lovely example in the classic combination of silver with black hide & black carpets.

The Footman James Classic Motor Show is the UK’s biggest classic motoring celebration will span eleven halls with an estimated 1,500 cars and 350 motorcycles on display, ranging from the rare and exciting to pre-war and retro classics, the sublime to the ridiculous, and many more.
