Aston Martin Works invites Aston Martin owners and enthusiasts to witness one of the most thrilling elements of motorsport in a unique location at ‘An Evening with Aston Martin Racing’.
This exciting event, which includes a glimpse of the high octane action that takes place in the pit lane, promises to bring the sights and sounds of the race track to the historical home of Aston Martin in Newport Pagnell.
Aston Martin Works is the official service and heritage division for the marque and the only dealership in the world offering both current and classic models for sale.
‘An Evening with Aston Martin Racing’ takes place from 6pm on Thursday 16 August and is being staged at Aston Martin Works’ new state-of-the-art showroom in Tickford Street, Newport Pagnell. This event is part of the celebrations to mark the opening of Aston Martin Work’s new dealership which houses a spectacular ten-car showroom as well as service workshops that have been extensively upgraded with new equipment.
The vastly experienced endurance race driver Darren Turner, together with the Aston Martin Racing GTE pit crew, will be demonstrating the skill, precision and hours of practice that go into perfecting the art of the perfect pitstop in the Vantage GTE car. Darren, who competed at this year’s Nürburgring and Le Mans 24-Hour events, will be joining the event direct from the track at Donington, where he and the team are testing the Vantage GTE.
The Pitstop Challenge will be described live by a commentator and will be followed by a Q&A session with the AMR team. Paul Spires, General Manager Sales, Aston Martin Works said: “This is an amazing opportunity to meet the AMR team face-to-face and to have a unique vantage point on how the crew performs pitstops when under the most intense race pressure. Not only that, Darren and the team will be happy to answer questions about any aspect of Aston Martin’s successful involvement in endurance motorsport.”
Guests will be treated to a champagne reception, followed by a barbeque. Also supporting the event will be clothing company Hackett, which is a supplier of AMR clothing, premier watchmaker Jaeger-LeCoultre and luxury audio brand Bang & Olufsen. In addition the V12 Zagato Nürburgring race car along with the AMR Vantage GTE and Vantage GT4 race cars will be on static display.
