South Africa’s leading luxury armoured vehicle manufacturer, Armormax, is hitting the road with their 5th generation Toyota Land Cruiser Prado in a bold and innovative nationwide roadshow. This initiative is designed not only to showcase their state-of-the-art armoured vehicles but also to educate Toyota dealerships about the rapidly growing demand for enhanced vehicle security solutions.
A New Perspective on Safety
Marketing Manager Michael Broom sees this roadshow as an opportunity to shift perceptions and empower South Africans.
“We have always maintained a positive outlook and attitude towards South Africa, often stating it’s the best place in the world to live. We understand that violent crime is an issue, however, our customers are able to mitigate at least some of the risks and live an unrestricted life,” he explains.
Armormax vehicles are renowned for their seamless blend of safety and luxury, offering peace of mind without compromising comfort or performance. Broom emphasizes that driving an Armormax vehicle feels no different from operating its unarmoured counterpart, allowing customers to fully embrace South Africa’s beauty and lifestyle with confidence.

Empowering Dealers to Meet Market Demand
The roadshow will provide a platform to debunk common myths about armoured vehicles, demonstrating their capabilities and practicality. With a sharp rise in consumer interest, Broom believes it’s crucial to arm dealer staff with accurate information.
“Dealer networks are often the first point of contact for customers. We want to ensure they are well-informed and prepared to assist potential buyers. Our roadshows highlight how easy it is to integrate these vehicles into everyday life,” says Broom.
Showcasing the Armoured Prado in Action
To prove the Prado’s versatility, the Armormax team plans to explore South Africa’s most scenic destinations and partake in activities popular among Prado enthusiasts. The B4 armoured Prado, featuring only 180kg of additional weight, retains its legendary off-road prowess, showcasing that enhanced security doesn’t come at the cost of capability.
The roadshow will also lend its support to a unique adventure by The Car Scene South Africa, a popular social media group. Their challenge? Take South Africa’s cheapest roadworthy VW—affectionately dubbed Voks—on an epic journey from Johannesburg up the rugged Sani Pass and onward to CampFest in Bela Bela, the country’s biggest VW festival. With the armoured Prado serving as a support and recovery vehicle, this collaboration demonstrates the unmatched reliability of Armormax products under real-world conditions.
Follow the Journey
Armormax will share updates from the roadshow on their social media pages, giving followers a glimpse into the capabilities of their armoured vehicles as they traverse South Africa. From rugged trails to dealership showrooms, the Prado’s journey promises to inspire confidence in this growing market segment.
