Celebrating 70 years of uncompromising performance and motorsport passion, Alpine returns to the Goodwood Festival of Speed in spectacular fashion. From July 10 to 13, the legendary French marque will honour its milestone year with a dynamic celebration of innovation, heritage, and high-octane thrills—capped by a world-first: the dynamic debut of the Alpine A290 Rallye.
Taking pride of place on the famous hillclimb, the A290 Rallye is a motorsport-honed evolution of the A290, which recently earned the coveted title of European Car of the Year 2025. Stripped back and geared up for competition, this striking machine features a full safety cage, uprated suspension and braking components, and a ZF limited-slip differential—marking a bold new direction for Alpine’s electrified motorsport ambitions.
Unveiled just last week at the Rallye du Rouergue, the A290 Rallye wears a livery crafted by Alpine’s design team to convey purity, focus, and raw performance. “This is an Alpine A290 in sporting clothes,” explains Raphael Linari, Alpine’s head of racing design. “Its look reflects lightness, simplicity and efficiency—the core of competition DNA.”
Yet this is only the start of what Alpine has in store for Goodwood.
Also making its UK dynamic debut is the futuristic Alpenglow HY6, a hydrogen-powered show car first revealed at the 2024 Paris Motor Show. With a 740bhp 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 beneath its sculpted skin, the Alpenglow HY6 represents Alpine’s vision for sustainable motorsport. More than a concept, it’s a philosophy: combining cutting-edge environmental innovation with visceral driving performance, wrapped in a design language that previews the next generation of Alpine models.
Joining it on the course is the formidable A110 R Ultime, the final evolution of the celebrated A110 line. Tuned for maximum precision and pace, the Ultime boasts 345bhp, 420Nm of torque and a blistering 0–100kph time of 3.8 seconds. Alpine estimates it to be 20 seconds quicker around the Nürburgring’s Nordschleife than the already-potent A110 R, making it the ultimate swansong for a beloved sports car before its production winds down in 2026.

Another highlight is the highly anticipated A390, set to make its UK debut at the festival. A fully electric five-seat sport fastback, the A390 channels the agility and driver-centric spirit of the A110 into a new segment. With a blend of practicality and performance, it marks a bold leap forward for the Alpine brand as it expands into the high-performance EV space.
Fans can also expect close encounters with Alpine’s current road-going range. The all-electric A290, fresh from its Car of the Year win, will be on display alongside the A110, a model that has consistently drawn acclaim for its lightweight construction, impeccable balance and timeless design.
Adding to the excitement, the BWT Alpine Formula One Team will showcase the brand’s premier motorsport pedigree with daily runs up the hill, delivering the visceral sound and spectacle of F1 engineering to Goodwood’s enthusiastic crowd.
Nic Burnside, Managing Director of Alpine Cars UK, commented:
“With motorsport in Alpine’s DNA, we are going the extra mile to bring an amazing and headline-grabbing line-up of cars to the Goodwood Festival of Speed this year. In the UK, Goodwood will be the highlight of our 70th anniversary celebrations, and we are determined to put on a memorable show for all the fans visiting this iconic venue.”
Alpine’s machines will run across the First Glance, New Classics, and Supercar demonstration categories throughout the weekend. For those chasing outright performance, the A110 R Ultime will also take part in the prestigious timed shootout, going head-to-head with the world’s most extreme vehicles.
From future-facing technology to tribute-worthy heritage, Alpine’s Goodwood presence is set to be a fitting tribute to seven decades of excellence—and a tantalising glimpse at what lies ahead.
