Alpine has added yet another coveted accolade to its rapidly filling trophy cabinet, with the all-electric A290 crowned ‘Performance Car of the Year’ at the 2025 Scottish Car of the Year (SCOTY) Awards. Recognised by the Association of Scottish Motoring Writers (ASMW), the award marks a significant achievement for Alpine’s first electric model – and firmly positions the A290 as a new benchmark for the electric hot hatch segment.
Held annually since 1997, the SCOTY Awards highlight the very best new vehicles available to UK buyers. Judged by Scotland’s most experienced motoring journalists, the awards consider style, comfort, practicality, value and, crucially for this category, performance.
