Barcelona, Spain (6 November 2024) – Nissan has unveiled its all-new Interstar, a large van designed to combine practicality with cutting-edge efficiency, versatile configurations, and advanced safety. A standout in its segment, the Interstar arrives with a fully electric powertrain and significant enhancements to meet the demands of modern businesses. Featuring an impressive 285-mile electric driving range, expanded load-carrying capacity, and robust safety features, the Interstar is positioned as a top choice for businesses across Europe looking to operate sustainably without compromising performance.

Electrifying Efficiency and Range
The electric version, the Interstar-e, makes history as Nissan’s first fully electric large van, underscoring Nissan’s commitment to electrifying its entire LCV lineup by 2027. Available with two battery options—a 40kWh for urban use and an 87kWh for extended ranges—this model provides an ideal solution for businesses with varying route demands. The Interstar-e’s 87kWh battery can achieve up to 157 miles of range with just a 30-minute DC charge, thanks to its 130kW charging capability. With AC charging options for overnight depot charging, the Interstar-e offers fleet operators unparalleled flexibility.

Beyond the eco-friendly Interstar-e, the lineup includes efficient diesel options powered by a 2.0-liter engine, offering up to 170PS and 380Nm. Designed for maximum efficiency, these diesel models see fuel savings of up to 1.5 liters per 100 kilometers, allowing for fewer stops and greater productivity on the road. Drivers can select from a 6-speed manual or a new 9-speed automatic transmission, providing an ideal setup for different driving needs.

Load Capacity and Adaptability
Designed to tackle the heaviest of loads, the Interstar doesn’t compromise on cargo capacity. Depending on the configuration, it offers up to 14.8m³ of cargo space in the L3H3 version, with a class-leading 1,312mm-wide side door for easy access. Payload capacities are equally impressive: up to 1.9 tonnes for the diesel variant and 1.6 tonnes for the electric model, ensuring that businesses can transport significant loads with ease. With a maximum towing capacity of 2,500kg, the Interstar empowers businesses to handle challenging logistics.

The Interstar’s aerodynamics have also been fine-tuned, reducing drag by 20% over previous models. This advancement not only enhances fuel efficiency but also maximizes the electric range for the Interstar-e, providing added value for businesses committed to sustainable operations.

Versatile Options for Any Business Need
Available in multiple factory-built configurations, the Interstar offers Tipper, Dropside, and Box versions, along with different height and length options to suit a variety of industries. The Tipper variant is ideal for construction or landscaping, offering easy load and dump capabilities, while the Box version maximizes covered storage. Payload capacities are similarly tailored, with options ranging from 3.3T to 4T in the diesel versions and 3.5T to 4T for the electric models. This diversity allows businesses to choose an Interstar that aligns with their specific operational needs, whether transporting heavy goods, managing deliveries, or running mobile workstations.

Enhanced Comfort and Maneuverability
The Interstar’s interior has been redesigned for a comfortable, user-centric experience. With up to 135 liters of cabin storage and a spacious layout, drivers can transform the Interstar into a mobile office equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Improved maneuverability, achieved through a reduction of 1.2 meters in turning diameter, makes the Interstar an ideal choice for navigating urban streets and tight spaces while carrying substantial loads.

Unmatched Safety and Innovative Technology
Nissan has made safety a priority in the new Interstar, earning it a Platinum rating from Euro NCAP. Advanced features like Forward Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, and Traffic Sign Recognition provide drivers with a reassuring sense of security. Additionally, the Interstar incorporates Nissan’s 1-box braking system, an electronically managed hydraulic system that enhances braking efficiency and energy regeneration in the electric model. This innovative system not only improves braking performance but also maximizes the range of the Interstar-e.

Ready to Drive Business Forward
With pre-orders now open and an official release set for January 2025, the all-new Nissan Interstar is a game-changer in the large van market. Priced from £32,390 (excluding VAT), the Interstar offers businesses a high-quality, reliable solution for transporting goods and services with sustainability and efficiency in mind. This next-generation van combines Nissan’s signature reliability with an environmentally friendly approach, ready to support the dynamic needs of today’s business owners and fleet operators across Europe.
