The all-new Mazda CX-5 is now available to order and configure in the UK, marking the next chapter for one of Mazda’s most successful SUVs. With prices starting from £31,550, the third-generation CX-5 builds on the model’s legacy of style, practicality, and driving engagement, now enhanced with Mazda’s 2.5-litre e-Skyactiv G 141ps petrol engine paired with 24V M Hybrid mild-hybrid technology. This upgrade replaces the outgoing 2.0-litre base unit and brings improved torque, seamless acceleration, and refined efficiency, while the front-wheel drive variant achieves 0-62mph in 10.5 seconds.
Available across four trim grades—Prime-Line, Centre-Line, Exclusive-Line, and Homura—the new CX-5 offers a choice of front-wheel or all-wheel drive on higher trims, with a six-speed automatic gearbox standard across the range. With global sales exceeding five million units since 2012, and UK sales surpassing 105,000, the CX-5 remains Mazda’s best-selling model in the country. Its enduring popularity is testament to the car’s balance of driver appeal, practicality, and style.
The latest CX-5 retains the signature shape of its predecessor while advancing Mazda’s Kodo – Soul of Motion design language. Its longer, wider, and taller proportions, combined with a 115mm extended wheelbase, enhance road presence, stability, and cabin space, making it even more versatile for daily life. Inside, a reimagined human-machine interface delivers smartphone-style interaction through a 12.9-inch centre display—or 15.6-inch on Homura models—with Google built-in for enhanced connectivity. A 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and streamlined steering wheel controls make essential driving information immediately accessible. Exclusive-Line and Homura trims benefit from a 12-speaker Bose® sound system, panoramic sunroof, and ambient lighting for a refined, tranquil cabin environment.
Practicality is also a focus: the CX-5 now offers an additional 61 litres of boot space, wider-opening rear doors, and a 40:20:40 split-folding rear bench for versatile family and lifestyle use. Interior finishes are tailored to each grade, ranging from black or tan leather in Homura models to two-tone black-and-white artificial leather and suede-like trims in Exclusive-Line models.
On the road, the all-new CX-5 combines chassis and suspension updates for enhanced ride comfort and handling, while a towing capacity of up to 2,000 kg adds capability for active lifestyles. With a full suite of updated driver-assistance systems, it achieves a Euro NCAP 5-star safety rating, providing reassurance alongside its stylish design and engaging driving dynamics.
Jeremy Thomson, Managing Director of Mazda Motors UK, emphasizes the importance of the CX-5 to the brand: “From the launch of the first-generation model in 2012, the CX-5 has been a hugely popular choice for UK SUV buyers who have loved its style, quality and driver engagement. Surpassing 100,000 sales in the UK, it’s clear this SUV enjoys amazing customer loyalty.”
With its refined driving dynamics, evolved Japanese design, premium interior, and enhanced versatility, the all-new Mazda CX-5 is ready to elevate every journey, wherever it leads. UK customers can now configure and order their CX-5 ahead of first deliveries this summer.
