Alpine has taken another decisive step into its electric future with the reveal of the all-new A390, a five-seat electric sport fastback that blends everyday usability with the sharp-edged performance the brand is known for. Priced from £61,390 on-the-road, UK order books will open in early 2026, with first customer deliveries scheduled for spring.
As the second model in Alpine’s fully electric Dream Garage, following the award-winning A290, the A390 signals a bold expansion into a new segment. It carries unmistakable Alpine DNA, but wraps it in a more practical, family-friendly format without diluting the brand’s focus on driving feel and engagement.
Electric performance, the Alpine way
Built on Alpine’s all-new optimised electric architecture, the A390 will be offered in three versions from launch: GT, limited-run Premiere Edition and range-topping GTS. All share an 89kWh high-performance battery, but power outputs and character vary to suit different buyers.
The A390 GT develops 400PS and 661Nm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 62mph in 4.8 seconds and offering a WLTP range of up to 345 miles. At the top of the line-up, the A390 GTS raises output to 470PS and 824Nm, cutting the 0–62mph sprint to just 3.9 seconds and pushing on to a top speed of 136mph. Sitting between them is the Premiere Edition, based on the GT, which adds enhanced specification and exclusivity, limited to just 390 examples.
Central to the A390’s dynamic promise is Alpine’s unique Active Torque Vectoring system. With two independent motors mounted on the rear axle, the system can precisely distribute torque to each wheel, enhancing agility, balance and responsiveness. Alpine engineers benchmarked the A390’s behaviour directly against the lighter A110 sports car, underlining the brand’s commitment to driver feel rather than filtering everything through software.
Real-world range and rapid charging
Despite its performance credentials, the A390 has been engineered for everyday use. The 89kWh battery delivers up to 345 miles of range on the WLTP cycle, subject to final homologation. DC rapid charging of up to 190kW allows a 15–80 per cent recharge in around 25 minutes, making long journeys more manageable. An 11kW three-phase AC bidirectional charger is standard across the range, while a 22kW unit is optional and fitted as standard to the Premiere Edition.
A refined, driver-focused interior
Inside, the A390 introduces a new interpretation of Alpine’s driver-centric cockpit. The feel@one interior features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12-inch central touchscreen, both displaying Alpine-specific graphics and integrated Google built-in services. An EV route planner, over-the-air updates and Alpine Telemetrics further reinforce the car’s technological focus.
Materials and craftsmanship have been elevated, with aluminium Devialet speaker grilles, microfibre headlining and a choice of Alpine Sport or Sabelt® bucket seats depending on trim. Despite its sporting intent, the A390 remains practical, offering seating for five and a generous 532-litre boot, expanding to 1,643 litres with the rear seats folded.
Trim levels and pricing
The A390 GT opens the range at £61,390, bringing a comprehensive specification that includes 20-inch CRISTAL diamond-cut alloy wheels with Michelin Sport EV tyres, adaptive LED Matrix headlights, a powered tailgate and a richly appointed interior trimmed in Alcantara® and Nappa leather. Technology highlights include Google built-in infotainment, Alpine Telemetrics and a 13-speaker Devialet® high-fidelity audio system.
From £65,390, the Premiere Edition adds distinctive Atelier-finished wheels, Bleu Alpine brake calipers, a contrasting black roof and French flag detailing on the rear C-pillar. Inside, it gains upgraded Sabelt® seats with genuine Nappa leather and massage function, the DRIVING pack with active driver assistance and hands-free parking, and a 22kW AC charger as standard.
Crowning the range is the A390 GTS at £69,390. Alongside its more powerful drivetrain, it features 21-inch forged SNOWFLAKE wheels, Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres, Rouge Racing brake calipers, an Alcantara® headliner and the Devialet® XtremeSound audio system. Alpine Telemetrics Expert and the DRIVING pack are also included as standard.
Design, safety and customisation
Six exterior colours will be available from launch, ranging from Blanc Topaze and Bleu Abysse to the striking Gris Tonnerre Matte Atelier finish. A contrasting black roof can be specified on GT and GTS models for £1,000.
Advanced driver assistance systems are standard across the range, including intelligent adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, blind spot intervention, traffic sign recognition, automatic emergency braking and a 360-degree camera system.
A statement of intent
“With its blend of expressive design, bespoke electric performance and the dynamic spirit that defines every Alpine, the A390 marks an important step in the brand’s transition to a fully electric future – one that remains firmly centred on driving pleasure,” said Nic Burnside, Brand Director at Alpine.
For buyers seeking an electric performance car that doesn’t sacrifice engagement or practicality, the Alpine A390 sets out its stall clearly. UK customers can find out more or register interest ahead of order books opening in early 2026 at alpine-cars.co.uk.
