Alfa Romeo Mito

Alfa Romeo has launched the Alfa MiTo Live, a new limited edition of 250, that combines safety and technology with a passion for music.

The Alfa MiTo, which has achieved a 5 star Euro NCAP safety rating, has been created for drivers who love to stay connected and entertained on the move. It comes fitted with a high fidelity BOSE® sound system and Pioneer’s innovative AppRadio™ system which lets users connect and access their smartphone’s apps through a seven-inch multi-touch screen.

Powered by the multi-award-winning TwinAir Turbo petrol engine, the Alfa MiTo Live combines impressive fuel economy with low (98g/km) CO2 emissions. Aimed at 17-25 year old drivers, the Alfa MiTo Live, which is insurance group 9, will also be offered with optional Marmalade telematics based cover, potentially reducing insurance premiums by up to 50 per cent*.

The Alfa MiTo Live is priced from just £16,590 OTR with extras including stylish 17” alloy wheels and rear tinted windows. Competitive financing packages on Hire Purchase start from 0% Hire Purchase with 45% deposit required.

Alfa Romeo

Damien Dally, Head of Brand, Alfa Romeo UK said; “The Alfa MiTo Live limited edition is a true expression of the Alfa Romeo brand – merging exciting technology with driving passion, in this case music. Combining the Pioneer AppRadio™ with a BOSE® sound system delivers one of the best in-car entertainment packages around, at a price point that will appeal to all ages, but especially younger drivers who want to stay connected and entertained on the move.”

ALFA MITO LIVE: IN DETAIL

TECHNOLOGY

The Pioneer AppRadio™ installed in the Alfa MiTo Live is an innovative car audio system which features a seven-inch multi-touch capacitive screen and Parrot Bluetooth® for hands-free calling. Compatible with Android, iPhone 4/4S and 5, iPod Touch including the latest iOS 6 and Jelly Bean operating systems, the AppRadio™ allows users to connect with the content on their smartphones. In Advanced App Mode, the system lets users access and control smartphone applications from Pioneer and other providers from the touch-screen console. Access to Maps, Photos, Calendar and other selected apps are via the free AppRadio™ app.

From one of the most recognised names in the HiFi world, the custom-engineered BOSE® system produces lifelike sound from nine high-performance speakers including a subwoofer mounted in a bespoke bass enclosure. A digital amplifier mounted in the foot well on the passenger side includes BOSE® digital signal processing and seven channels of customised equalisation. Engineering teams from Alfa Romeo and BOSE® worked together to match the performance of the sound system to the individual acoustics of the MiTo’s interior.

STYLING

Alfa MiTo Live is finished in Alfa Red special paint and comes with contrasting gloss black roof, wing mirrors and door handles. The limited edition is fitted as standard with 17” titanium Sport alloy wheels. A sporty rear bumper, spoiler, carbon look dash, tinted windows, and titanium grey surrounds on the lights add to the dynamic features.

PERFORMANCE

The Alfa MiTo Live is powered by the dynamic and efficient 85 bhp TwinAir engine, an 875cc twin-cylinder turbo powerplant that delivers an impressive 67.3mpg over a combined cycle with just 98g/km CO2 emissions. Thanks to the efficiency of the drivetrain, the TwinAir powered MiTo qualifies for zero road tax and congestion charge exemption.

The MiTo Live delivers precise handling with the Alfa MiTo’s signature D.N.A. switch for three driving modes and enhanced control with VDC (ABS + ASR + Brake Assist) and hill holder and electronic Q2.

MARMALADE INSURANCE

Unlike many ‘black box’ policies, Marmalade’s advanced telematics-based insurance starts drivers on a lower premium with no curfews, no penalties and no extra charges for driving at night. Online feedback allows drivers to review their journeys at any time and there are e-learning modules for developing safer driving skills. The cover also means drivers can start building a No Claims Bonus immediately.

Young drivers with no ‘high risk’ journeys at the end of their first year with Marmalade could see their premium decrease by up to 30% in year two.

Marmalade New Driver Insurance offers much lower insurance premiums by using black box technology to help young drivers maintain and develop safer driving skills, showing how they can be a lower risk.
