The UK electric SUV market gains a compelling new contender as the AION V makes its official entry, bringing with it a blend of long-range capability, luxury-grade comfort, and a sharply engineered ownership experience designed to remove friction from the shift to electric mobility.
Positioned as an all-electric family SUV with premium ambitions, the AION V arrives with prices starting from £36,450 OTR, supported by flexible PCP offers beginning at £379 per month at 2.9 percent APR Representative through AION Financial Services. Pre-orders open on 23 April via a dedicated UK concierge service, offering customers a guided purchasing experience that includes tailored finance consultations and direct support ahead of first deliveries. The first retail presence follows shortly after, with a flagship showroom in Slough opening at the end of May as part of a growing nationwide dealer network.
Design is immediately assertive, with a strong stance underscored by distinctive front and rear lighting signatures, a muscular profile, and 19-inch alloy wheels that reinforce its road presence. Customers can choose from a palette that includes Wilderness Sand metallic and Arctic White pearlescent as standard, with additional metallic finishes available for those seeking a more personalised visual identity.
Inside, the AION V leans decisively into a business-class interpretation of family travel. The cabin is built around soft-touch materials and a sense of spatial calm, enhanced by a full-length panoramic roof and double-glazed front windows that help isolate the interior from external noise. Comfort features extend across all seating positions, with electrically adjustable heated and ventilated front seats paired with heated reclining rear seats, creating a consistent sense of refinement across every journey.
Technology sits at the centre of the experience through a 14.6-inch infotainment display powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, supported by wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. A zonal voice assistant enables control of key vehicle functions, while permanent soft keys provide immediate access to essential systems such as climate and seating. A nine-speaker 360-watt audio system completes the immersive cabin environment, complemented by ambient lighting that can be adjusted to suit mood and driving conditions.
Practicality has not been overlooked, with wide-opening doors and a versatile three-tier boot system offering up to 472 litres of cargo capacity. Lounge mode transforms the seating layout into a more relaxed, chaise-longue-style configuration, reinforcing the vehicle’s dual identity as both commuter and long-distance travel companion.
Underpinning the AION V is a 75.3kWh LFP battery delivering a claimed 317-mile range, placing it among the most capable electric SUVs in its segment with a standard-fit battery configuration. Charging performance is equally competitive, with the ability to replenish from 30 to 80 percent in just 18 minutes under optimal conditions. A heat pump system further enhances efficiency by maintaining battery temperature within its ideal operating range.
UK-specific tuning ensures the driving experience is aligned with local road conditions, with suspension calibration refined for comfort and composure across varied surfaces. This focus on regional adaptation reinforces the model’s positioning as a purpose-built entrant for British roads rather than a generic global export.
Ownership is further strengthened by the AION Great 8 package, an eight-year support structure covering warranty, servicing, roadside assistance and MOT provision. The package is tied to the vehicle’s VIN and remains transferable across ownership changes, extending its value well beyond the initial purchase cycle and reinforcing long-term confidence.
Support infrastructure is also being established in partnership with the AA, providing access to nationwide workshops and mobile technician coverage, while logistics support from DHL ensures next-day parts delivery through a dedicated hub in Bury St Edmunds. This layered service approach reflects a broader strategy focused on reliability and convenience as much as product capability.
Speaking on the launch, Jon Wakefield, Managing Director at AION Auto UK, highlighted the brand’s intent to combine product strength with a reassurance-led ownership model, noting that the AION V represents a key step in building trust and establishing a new standard in the segment.
With its combination of long range, rapid charging, high-specification interior and structured ownership support, the AION V enters the UK market not simply as another electric SUV, but as a carefully packaged proposition aimed at redefining expectations of everyday electric mobility.
