Renault UK welcomes back a familiar face as Adam Wood assumes the role of Managing Director of Renault UK and Country Head of Renault Group UK, effective from October 1st. He replaces Guillaume Sicard, who transitions to the prestigious role of Vice President Renault Brand France. Wood’s appointment marks a pivotal moment for the French automaker as it continues its rapid growth in the UK and reinforces its leadership in electrification.
Adam Wood’s career with Renault UK is a story of homecoming. He originally joined the company’s graduate programme in 2007, armed with a degree in French from the University of Bristol and an MSc in International Business from the University of Nottingham. Over 14 years, Wood ascended through various strategic roles, including key leadership positions as Dacia Brand Director and Renault UK’s Marketing Director. He left Renault in 2021 to take on the role of Managing Director of Peugeot UK, where he gained valuable insights and experience in the competitive landscape of the automotive industry.
Now, as Wood returns to Renault, he steps into a company that is riding a wave of success. Renault has been recognised as one of the fastest-growing brands in the UK, with its cutting-edge electrification strategy driving this resurgence. The brand’s award-winning vehicles, including the Scenic E-Tech 100% electric, which earned the coveted title of ‘Car of the Year,’ and the New Master van, named ‘Van of the Year,’ are testaments to Renault’s commitment to innovation and sustainability.
Reflecting on his new role, Wood expressed excitement about the future: “I am proud to return to Renault UK to lead the business at such an exciting time. Renault has real momentum, and with the iconic Renault 5 E-Tech 100% electric and Renault 4 E-Tech 100% electric set to strengthen our zero-emission product line-up even further, I look forward to building on our success.”

Wood’s leadership comes at a critical juncture as Renault continues to expand its model range, particularly in the electric vehicle (EV) sector. With the Renault 5 E-Tech and Renault 4 E-Tech poised to join the brand’s growing portfolio of zero-emission vehicles, the company is well-positioned to capitalise on the UK’s increasing demand for sustainable transportation solutions.
His deep understanding of Renault’s brand values, combined with his recent experience at Peugeot, will no doubt prove invaluable as Renault navigates this new era of electrification and innovation. Wood’s return signals not only continuity but also fresh vision, making him the ideal leader to steer Renault UK toward even greater heights.
As the automotive landscape continues to evolve, Wood’s leadership will be instrumental in ensuring Renault’s place at the forefront of the UK’s electric revolution. With his extensive background in both brand strategy and marketing, he is poised to guide Renault through the exciting challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
Adam Wood’s return is more than just a personnel change—it’s a signal of Renault’s ambition to continue driving the future of mobility in the UK and beyond.
