IRB 6730S, IRB 6750S and IRB 6760 debut with OmniCore™ controllers, setting new benchmarks in precision, payload capacity and sustainability
ABB Robotics has taken another leap forward in industrial automation with the launch of three new large robots—the IRB 6730S, IRB 6750S and IRB 6760. These additions to ABB’s next-generation robot lineup expand what is already the most comprehensive industrial robotics portfolio on the market, now featuring 11 robot families and 60 different variants. Together, they promise new levels of performance, efficiency and versatility for customers across manufacturing, automotive, foundry, and electronics sectors.
“The launch of our new robots supports our vision that ‘versatility’ will be the defining factor for robotics in 2025,” said Marc Segura, President of ABB’s Robotics Division. “This market-leading range of industrial robots and variants, coupled with our comprehensive portfolio of mechatronic platforms, cobots, and AMRs, ensures we are ideally placed to support our customers as we enter a new world of increased productivity and flexibility.”
Shelf-Mounted Strength: IRB 6730S and IRB 6750S
Designed for space-constrained production environments, the IRB 6730S and IRB 6750S are shelf-mounted robots capable of carrying payloads of up to 350 kg. Their elevated installation allows for higher robot density and integration with floor-mounted systems to optimise production lines. Both models offer full horizontal and vertical motion capabilities, enabling enhanced downward reach—ideal for high-precision tasks in die casting, injection molding, and spot welding.
Their compatibility with floor-mounted IRB 6710~6740 robots demonstrates a significant performance uplift. For instance, a configuration of ten shelf-mounted IRB 6730S or 6750S robots working in harmony with eight floor-mounted counterparts can increase spot weld output from 70 to 80 joints in just 15 seconds—a substantial gain in manufacturing throughput.

Peak Press Tending Performance: IRB 6760
The IRB 6760 represents the pinnacle of press tending solutions within ABB’s lineup. Engineered for mid-sized press lines, this model achieves a market-leading rate of up to 15 strokes per minute—equivalent to 900 parts per hour—when paired with ABB’s lightweight carbon-fiber tooling boom. Ideal for automotive, electronics and general manufacturing applications, the IRB 6760 brings unprecedented speed and accuracy to high-volume stamping operations.
OmniCore™ Power: Performance with Purpose
All three robots are powered by ABB’s cutting-edge OmniCore™ controller platform. Offering a 20% reduction in energy consumption alongside class-leading motion control, OmniCore™ elevates each robot’s performance to industry-leading levels. For example, the IRB 6750S achieves a path accuracy of just 0.9 mm—delivering precision with unmatched consistency.
OmniCore™ also supports advanced connectivity and modularity, ensuring long-term adaptability in dynamic industrial settings. This modularity is reinforced by the entire robot lineup’s common platform approach, which simplifies maintenance and reduces total cost of ownership through shared service tools and spare parts.
Redefining the Future of Flexible Automation
With this launch, ABB Robotics continues to lead the transformation of the manufacturing landscape. As industries contend with labour shortages, the need for greater productivity, and pressure to meet sustainability goals, ABB’s newly expanded robot family offers a strategic advantage.
From high-speed press tending to space-saving shelf installations and smart energy use, the IRB 6730S, IRB 6750S and IRB 6760 underscore ABB’s commitment to delivering intelligent, flexible, and future-ready automation solutions.
