Abu Dhabi, UAE – 13 November 2025: The future of motorsport will ignite under the lights of Yas Marina Circuit this Saturday, 15 November, as the world’s largest autonomous racing event returns for its much-anticipated Grand Final. With a US$2.25 million prize pool, 11 global teams, a full-capacity crowd, and six fully autonomous racecars going head-to-head for the first time, A2RL Season 2 promises to deliver a landmark moment in the evolution of robotics, autonomy, and high-speed AI competition.
A Full House for a New Era of Racing
Once again, the main grandstand at Abu Dhabi’s iconic circuit has reached maximum capacity as motorsport fans, technologists, academics, and innovators gather to witness a spectacle unlike anything else in global competition. Eighteen months in the making, A2RL Season 2 has pushed the boundaries of autonomous engineering—culminating in an unprecedented multi-car final that will redefine what’s possible on four wheels.
Grand Final: Six Cars, Zero Drivers, Unlimited Potential
For the first time in racing history, six autonomous racecars will compete wheel-to-wheel in a 20-lap Grand Final. The teams earning their place on this groundbreaking grid—TUM, Unimore, Kinetiz, TII Racing, PoliMOVE and Constructor—have emerged from a rigorous qualification phase held in October.
Reigning champions TUM enter the Grand Final in pole position after a fiercely competitive multi-car sprint against long-time rivals Unimore. Their qualifying performance sets the tone for a high-stakes showdown between cutting-edge algorithms and the finest mechanical engineering the series has ever seen.
Alongside the headlining race, A2RL will host a Silver Race for RAPSON, Code 19, Fly Eagle, FR4IAV and TGM Grand Prix, offering these teams one final chance to unleash their systems at full pace and secure their ranking in the overall championship standings.
Human vs AI: A Battle Growing Ever Closer
The gap between human instinct and machine intelligence continues to narrow. During pre-season testing, Italian team Unimore became the first to surpass a benchmark lap time set by a professional racing driver—another milestone in the sport’s rapid evolution.
A highlight of Saturday’s roster will be the Human vs AI showcase, where former Formula 1 driver Daniil Kvyat will take on reigning champions TUM in a highly anticipated head-to-head. With record-breaking pace recorded during qualifying, spectators can expect a nail-biting duel between elite human skill and the relentless precision of machine-learning systems.
Supercars, STEM Champions, and an Immersive Fan Zone
Ahead of the autonomous showdown, the evening will open with a spectacular Supercar Parade Laps display by Group 63, bringing the roar of combustion engines to the circuit before AI powers take the spotlight.
The event will also recognise rising young innovators through the A2RL STEM Competition awards. This year, 140 students from across the UAE participated, racing AWS DeepRacer 1/18th-scale autonomous vehicles—an educational mirror of the main A2RL challenge that underscores the programme’s mission to cultivate future tech talent.
Off-track, the world-class A2RL Fan Zone will deliver a fully immersive experience designed for families, tech enthusiasts, and curious newcomers alike. Visitors can expect humanoid robot demonstrations, interactive challenges, technology activations, live entertainment, and hands-on experiences that bring the excitement of autonomous innovation to life.
A Global Broadcast and a VR Experience Like No Other
Fans around the world can tune in this Sunday, 16 November at 3pm GST via the Abu Dhabi Media Network, StarzPlay, Motorsport TV, and A2RL’s official YouTube channel. In addition, viewers can step directly into the heart of the race with A2RL’s state-of-the-art live VR platform—offering real-time access to car data, track views, and high-speed action from an entirely new perspective.
