Milton Keynes, UK – A bold new chapter in electric mobility begins as Mercedes-Benz opens the order books for the all-new CLA – a model heralded as the most efficient, intuitive, and intelligent vehicle the brand has ever produced. With pricing starting from £45,615¹ for the CLA 250+ with EQ Technology in Sport Edition specification, this groundbreaking model is set to redefine expectations when customer deliveries commence in Q3 2025.
As the inaugural member of a completely new family of vehicles, the CLA stands on the cutting edge of Mercedes-Benz innovation. Built on the versatile Mercedes-Benz Modular Architecture (MMA), it’s engineered from the ground up to accommodate both fully electric and high-tech hybrid drivetrains – the latter of which will debut later this year. But first out of the gate is the all-electric CLA 250+, equipped with a state-of-the-art 85 kWh high-voltage battery and a rear-mounted 200 kW (272 hp) electric motor.
The performance figures are as compelling as the technology within: 0 to 62 mph in just 6.7 seconds, a top speed of 130 mph, and up to 484 miles² of range in Sport Edition guise. Thanks to its 800-volt electrical architecture, derived from the visionary VISION EQXX concept, the CLA can charge at up to 320 kW, delivering over 200 miles of range in a mere 10 minutes³.
Efficiency is baked into every detail. A drag coefficient as low as 0.214⁴, intelligent energy recuperation, an air-to-air heat pump, and Mercedes-Benz Navigation with Electric Intelligence all contribute to exceptional range and real-world usability. This is a car that doesn’t just promise the future – it delivers it, intelligently.
But the CLA is more than just an EV powerhouse. It’s also a technological tour de force. Every model comes equipped with the all-new Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS), the fourth-generation MBUX platform, and a supercomputer connected to the Mercedes-Benz Intelligent Cloud. This enables over-the-air updates, dynamic driving assistance enhancements, and a highly personalised user experience.

Inside, innovation continues. A 14” high-resolution centre display is standard, complete with smartphone integration, real-time graphics powered by the Unity Game Engine, and an integrated video camera. The optional MBUX Superscreen, offering a second 14” display for the front passenger, will be introduced shortly after launch. And with AI integration from both Microsoft and Google, the CLA’s new MBUX Virtual Assistant can hold fluid, complex conversations, remembering recent interactions⁵ to deepen the connection between driver and car.
Design-wise, the new CLA is unmistakably a Mercedes-Benz. The illuminated front grille features 142 animated LED stars that greet and farewell the driver with a captivating display. A generous panoramic glass roof comes standard, intelligently engineered to regulate heat and glare using ultra-thin infrared and low-emissivity coatings.
Three trim levels are available: Sport Edition, AMG Line Edition, and AMG Line Premium Edition. Each builds on the last, with highlights such as flush-fitting door handles, ambient lighting, and larger alloy wheels. The range-topping AMG Line Premium Edition adds 19” wheels, MULTIBEAM LED headlamps, and the dramatic Night Package for enhanced road presence.
Safety and comfort remain at the heart of the CLA experience. Features such as DISTRONIC Distance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Assist, and Brake Assist come as standard, while advanced assistance systems are grouped under the new MB.DRIVE suite.
A plug-in hybrid version of the CLA is due later in 2025, featuring a newly developed four-cylinder petrol engine paired with 48-volt technology and an integrated electric motor within an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Whether you’re drawn to its remarkable range, visionary technology, or sophisticated design, the new CLA sets a new benchmark in the premium compact segment. Orders can be placed today via the Mercedes-Benz Online Showroom or by visiting your nearest Mercedes-Benz Agent.
