In a world that moves faster than ever, sometimes all it takes is a quiet moment, a warm drink, and a friendly face to make someone feel seen. That’s the simple yet powerful idea behind Ben’s Big Breakfast, a nationwide initiative that invites the entire automotive industry to press pause, connect over breakfast, and raise funds for a cause that’s close to home.
Now entering its fifth year, Ben’s Big Breakfast returns from 6th to 12th October 2025, coinciding with World Mental Health Day on the 10th—and the timing couldn’t be more important. With 44% of automotive people struggling with anxiety, 33% facing depression, and 38% battling poor work-life balance, Ben is calling on individuals, teams, and entire organisations to turn a meal into a moment of meaning.
Last year’s event raised an incredible £25,000. This year, the goal is bigger, the need is greater, and the invitation is simple: host your own breakfast, whether it’s in a boardroom, workshop, forecourt, or staffroom. Bring, bake, or buy a spread—and most importantly, encourage conversation and connection, with donations going directly to support Ben’s vital work in mental health, crisis support, and wellbeing services for those in the automotive industry.
“A quick chat over a coffee could be exactly what someone needs,” says Matt Wigginton, Director of Growth & Development at Ben.
“Right now, many are suffering in silence, thinking they’ve got no-one to turn to. That’s why connection matters, for our mental health.”
Ben’s Big Breakfast is more than just a fundraiser—it’s a reminder that our automotive family is stronger together. From flipping pancakes to plating up pastries, every breakfast table becomes a safe space for real conversations and collective care. Whether you’re a dealership, a supplier, an independent garage, or a corporate HQ, it’s a chance to rally your team, involve customers, invite families, and spark change with every cuppa poured.

By signing up at www.ben.org.uk/bigbreakfast, participants will receive a free fundraising kit, full of ideas and materials to help make your breakfast event a success. From posters to bunting, donation boxes to conversation starters—it’s all included to help you create something memorable.
“Breakfast really is the best meal of the day,” says Matt.
“And sharing it with others can spark meaningful conversations. Whether you’re selling sausage sarnies or serving smoothies, every bite helps Ben be there when it matters most.”
In a sector where pressure can pile up and wellbeing often takes a back seat, Ben’s Big Breakfast offers a moment to slow down, check in, and lift each other up. Every conversation, every donation, every piece of toast can help change a life.
So, grab your spatula, rally your team, and get ready to raise a mug for mental health. This October, it’s time to serve up something truly meaningful.
