Tata has once again dispelled the traditional views of the station wagon being a vehicle of practical styling only. The unveiling the new facelift Indigo station at the Auto Africa Motor Show on 27 October, has re-positioned the station wagon into a class of modern styling, sleek contours and an overall more desirable exterior design.

Defying the normal perception of the station wagon is what Tata does best and has once again succeeded in combining functionality and style for the “all purpose” family vehicle without compromising on any of its comforts, safety features and the practicality of driving a hatchback.

Tata Indigo SW South Africa Car Show

The modern look colour-coded wraparound bumpers, colour coded rear view mirrors and doors, high mounted third brake light and elegant teardrop headlamps makes the Indigo SW stand out among its competitors.

Sales & Marketing Manager, Michael Camacho describes the new-look station wagon as a cross between a city hatch run around and multi-purpose vehicle.

Says Michael Camacho, “The hatch aspect incorporates the folding rear seats, ease of parking and a fuel efficient 1400cc fuel injected engine. The multi-purpose characteristics include a practical high roof and little storage compartments throughout the vehicle to keep groceries secure while driving. A low loading design at the back of the SW offers ease of loading school and sports kit, holiday and camping gear and even the beloved family dog!”

Still packed with features, the “new look” Indigo SW does not compromise on any of its safety features, something Tata has become renown for.

Because we care about the safety of our little passengers, a rear child-lock and safety belts will ensure that children are transported safely at all times and a warning buzzer will remind the driver if they have not buckled-up too! You needn’t worry about accidental spills on the upholstery as the dual tone plush material with a carbon finish console makes it easy to clean.

The GLX and DLX models come standard with ABS brakes as well as driver and passenger airbags. Thereafter all 3 models carry every safety feature that complies with the Euro2 standards such as collapsible steering column, side intrusion beams, seatbelt pretensioners, anti-submarine seats, front, rear and side crumple zones, front and rear fog lamps and adjustable time intermittent wipers to name a few.

Still positioned at South Africa’s most affordable family vehicle, the pricing remains competitively priced at R94 745 for the GLS, R106 745 for the GLX and the diesel option at R113 995.

Making this purchase even more impressive is the free 2 year / 45 000km service plan, 3 year / 100 000km factory warranty and 3 year / unlimited km Tata roadside assistance plan.

The Indigo SW is clearly the affordable, practical and most stylish family car option!
