London, 5 February 2026 – In the fiercely competitive UK automotive market, 2025 will be remembered as the year JAECOO arrived—and quickly made its mark. Launched in January 2025, the brand delivered one of the strongest debut performances the market has seen in over a decade, recording 33,173 new vehicle registrations in its first 12 months*.
At the heart of this success is the JAECOO 7, the brand’s flagship model, which quickly became a household name. The model dominated retail sales, finishing January 2026 as the top-selling car in its segment*, and ranking as the second most popular car overall in the month. Over 30,100 JAECOO 7 units were sold during the brand’s first year, placing it ahead of many long-established competitors and firmly establishing JAECOO on UK roads.
Electrification played a pivotal role in the brand’s rapid rise. The JAECOO 7’s Super Hybrid System (SHS) powertrain accounted for 70% of all JAECOO 7 sales in 2025, offering customers the ideal blend of efficiency and performance. By pairing this hybrid option with a conventional ICE variant, JAECOO provided UK buyers with genuine choice, supporting drivers through the transition to electrified mobility without compromise.
Design and specification were equally important in shaping the brand’s appeal. The JAECOO 7’s signature waterfall grille, confident SUV proportions, and thoughtfully integrated technology set it apart in a crowded segment. Coupled with capable performance and a comprehensive warranty package, these features created a compelling, customer-focused proposition that resonated strongly across the market.
Momentum continued with the expansion of the UK range. The introduction of the JAECOO 5, a compact SUV with distinctive styling and ICE capability, and the all-electric JAECOO E5, the brand’s first pure-electric UK offering, broadened the brand’s appeal while maintaining its adventurous character. This multi-powertrain strategy underlines JAECOO’s commitment to meeting diverse customer needs rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.
Gary Lan, CEO of JAECOO UK, reflected on the brand’s first year: “Our first year has been about building trust through product and delivery. From launching the JAECOO 7 to expanding the range and dealer network, the focus has been on offering genuine choice, strong value, and a level of support that customers can rely on. The response from private buyers shows that this approach is resonating, giving us a solid foundation as we move into our second year in the UK. Establishing a brand in a single year is one thing; sustaining momentum is another. The results we’ve seen in 2025 give us confidence to continue investing in our products, network, and aftersales support, ensuring JAECOO remains competitive and relevant.”
Industry recognition quickly followed. JAECOO was named Brand of the Year at the 2026 Carwow Awards, while the JAECOO 7 earned Best Family Car at the Scottish Car of the Year Awards 2025. Consumer interest was equally striking: “JAECOO cars” ranked third in Google’s UK top trending car searches in 2025, making it the most searched Chinese car brand of the year.
Entering 2026, JAECOO continues its upward trajectory. Together with sister brand OMODA UK, the brand now represents 4.65% of the UK automotive market*, a remarkable achievement for a newcomer. With ongoing investment planned across its dealer network, product line-up, and aftersales capabilities, JAECOO enters its second year with momentum, direction, and a clear ethos: to ensure every customer can ‘Enjoy Every Moment Outdoors.’
