As the 2024 South African National Rally Championship (NRC) nears its conclusion, motorsport enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the grand finale—the highly anticipated 2024 TRACN4 Rally. Scheduled for November 15 and 16 in the picturesque town of Dullstroom, Mpumalanga, this rally promises to be a spectacular climax to an already electrifying season. Renowned for its rugged terrain, intense competition, and vibrant local atmosphere, the TRACN4 Rally will once again unite drivers, fans, and the local community in a celebration of South African motorsport.

A Premier Event in South African Motorsport
Over the years, the TRACN4 Rally has earned its reputation as a premier event on the South African motorsport calendar. Now in its fifth consecutive year in Dullstroom, this leg of the NRC consistently attracts top-tier drivers, passionate fans, and major sponsors, making it a must-see for rally enthusiasts. Set against the scenic backdrop of the eMakhazeni region, the rally’s growing prestige ensures it remains a key date for motorsport aficionados across the nation.

As the final event in the NRC, the TRACN4 Rally holds particular significance. The South African NRC is the country’s oldest consecutive championship, a testament to the endurance and evolution of motorsport within the region. This year’s championship, which began in May, has been marked by fierce competition among top drivers, adding even more anticipation to the final showdown in Dullstroom.

Going All Out: The 2024 Rally Theme
With the rally’s theme for 2024 aptly titled “Going All Out,” teams will push their limits in a bid for ultimate victory. Chris Coertse, the current leader of the drivers’ championship, is expected to face stiff competition as the final event approaches, promising unforgettable moments for both drivers and spectators.

The event will be spread over two adrenaline-fueled days, where drivers, navigators, and their cars will tackle a variety of demanding stages. Covering approximately 160 km of Mpumalanga’s challenging terrain, the stages will test not just speed, but also precision, endurance, and strategy. The high-altitude location and unpredictable weather will further amplify the difficulty, ensuring that only the best will emerge victorious.

Supporting the eMakhazeni Community
The TRACN4 Rally is more than just a motorsport event—it is an integral part of the local community. Since 2020, the rally has played a crucial role in supporting the Dullstroom Epilepsy Centre, Mpumalanga’s headquarters for Epilepsy SA. Proceeds from the event directly benefit the centre, allowing it to continue providing essential services to individuals and families affected by epilepsy.

In addition to its philanthropic contributions, the rally is an economic boon for the region. Dullstroom and Belfast (eMakhazeni) rely heavily on tourism, and the influx of visitors during the rally provides a significant boost to local businesses. From hotels and restaurants to craft stores and tour operators, the event generates substantial revenue and creates temporary jobs, further enhancing its positive impact on the community.

Tackling the Rugged Forests
One of the defining features of the TRACN4 Rally is its challenging terrain. The forest roads around Dullstroom, maintained by Safcol and S&N Boerdery, are renowned for their technical difficulty. Tight corners, narrow passages, and varied surfaces demand both skill and strategy, requiring drivers to maintain a delicate balance between speed and precision. These stages are notorious for testing even the most seasoned rally teams, ensuring a thrilling competition from start to finish.

A Spectator’s Delight
For fans, the 2024 TRACN4 Rally promises an unforgettable experience. Spectator zones will be set up at strategic points along the course, offering prime viewing opportunities as the action unfolds. The locations of these zones, along with other event details, will be shared via TRACN4 and NRC’s social media channels, as well as in the official rally programme, which will be released a week before the event.

What’s New for 2024?
While the core two-day format remains, the 2024 TRACN4 Rally will introduce several exciting new features. For the first time, fans will witness the new NRC 1 VW Polos in action, adding a fresh dynamic to the championship. Additionally, enhanced spectator facilities and increased social media coverage will ensure a more interactive experience, allowing fans to engage more closely with the event.

A Rally for the History Books
As the 2024 TRACN4 Rally draws near, the excitement is palpable. This year’s event will not only serve as the culmination of the NRC season but also as a celebration of the spirit of rally racing in South Africa. With its blend of fierce competition, breathtaking landscapes, and strong community ties, the rally is set to be an unforgettable conclusion to the 2024 championship. As teams “go all out” in their pursuit of glory, fans and the motorsport world will once again come together to witness history in the making.
