Brescia, 3 October 2024 — Once again, the historic 1000 Miglia re-enactment promises to captivate motoring enthusiasts with a spectacular surprise for its 43rd edition in 2025. Revered as the “most beautiful race in the world,” this iconic event draws inspiration from its rich, pre-war heritage, presenting an ambitious and nostalgic journey that reflects the roots of its original speed races.

Following the success of last year’s anti-clockwise route, the 2025 edition—scheduled from Tuesday, 17 June to Saturday, 21 June—will revive the legendary “figure eight” course, a hallmark of the 1000 Miglia’s early years. This intricate route was used during the first 12 editions of the race, spanning a demanding layout that brings participants back to the golden era of endurance racing. For the third consecutive year, the race will retain its five-day format, further solidifying its reputation as a true test of skill, endurance, and passion.

Day One: A Scenic Prelude
On 17 June, more than 400 vintage cars will roar to life as the race embarks from Brescia. The first leg promises a scenic drive through northern Italy, with stops in Desenzano, the stunning peninsula of Sirmione, and the romantic city of Verona. From there, the cars will speed towards Bovolone and Ferrara, concluding the day’s stage in San Lazzaro di Savena, within the metropolitan city of Bologna. This opening day sets the tone for what is sure to be a breathtaking race, offering drivers and spectators alike a glimpse of Italy’s timeless beauty.

Day Two: Conquering the Raticosa and Futa Passes
The second day of the 2025 1000 Miglia will see participants tackle one of the most demanding and storied segments of the race: the Raticosa and Futa Passes. This stretch, steeped in history, was a crucial and arduous part of the 1930s editions of the race, demanding exceptional driving skills and mechanical precision. After crossing these passes, the cars will descend through Prato and Siena before reaching the turning point in Rome, where the thrill of the challenge continues as they head north once again.

Day Three: The Journey North Begins
Following the grand turnaround in Rome, the third leg will lead drivers through the picturesque towns of Orvieto, Foiano della Chiana, Arezzo, and San Sepolcro. The route then moves toward San Marino, offering participants a spectacular mix of hilly landscapes and technical roads. The day concludes in the coastal town of Cervia-Milano Marittima, where drivers will rest in anticipation of the cross-country journey that awaits.

Day Four: East Meets West
On 20 June, the race takes a dramatic turn as it spans the width of Italy, travelling from the eastern shores to the Tyrrhenian Sea. Departing from Cervia, the 1000 Miglia will cross the Apennines to reach Empoli, where the ascending route intersects the downward course taken two days prior. Continuing westward, the route will pass through Pontedera, known for its Vespa heritage, and reach the Italian Naval Academy in Livorno. From here, the cars will journey north along the coast, passing Viareggio before ascending through the famed Cisa Pass. The day ends in Parma, setting the stage for the final push toward the finish line.

Day Five: A Triumphant Return to Brescia
The fifth and final day of the 1000 Miglia 2025 will bring the journey full circle. After over 1000 miles of intense driving through Italy’s most breathtaking landscapes and historic cities, the race will conclude with the much-anticipated arrival parade on Viale Venezia in Brescia. As the drivers cross the finish line, tired but triumphant, they will be greeted by the enthusiastic cheers of the crowd, celebrating their endurance and the enduring spirit of the 1000 Miglia.

The 2025 edition of the 1000 Miglia promises to be a historic tribute to the past while continuing to offer the excitement and prestige that have made it a beloved event in the automotive world. For participants and spectators alike, this race is not merely a competition but a journey through time, a celebration of automotive heritage, and a testament to the enduring allure of classic motoring.
