Ingolstadt, August 25, 2025 – Few models encapsulate the balance of everyday versatility and premium refinement as well as Audi’s Q3. Since its launch over a decade ago, more than two million examples have found homes worldwide, establishing it as one of the brand’s best-selling models. Now, with the arrival of the third-generation Q3 and Q3 Sportback, Audi has sharpened the formula, combining bold design, advanced technology, and efficient drivetrains that set fresh standards in the premium compact segment.

A Confident New Design Language

The new Q3 wears its confidence proudly. A broader Singleframe grille, sculpted surfaces, and taut proportions give the SUV a purposeful stance, while the coupé-inspired Q3 Sportback—available from October at a £1,500 premium—adds extra drama with a roofline 29mm lower than its sibling. Pronounced quattro blisters over the wheel arches nod to Audi’s rallying heritage, while the interplay of light and shadow along the shoulder line reinforces its dynamic profile.

Lighting design is a particular highlight. Digital Matrix LED headlights, featuring pioneering micro-LED technology, debut in the Q3 compact class, delivering exceptional clarity, contrast, and adaptive functionality. These lights not only enhance safety by projecting guidance information directly onto the road, but also allow owners to personalise their car’s light signatures. At the rear, optional digital OLED tail lamps and illuminated rings add a striking nighttime identity.

Interiors with Intelligence and Craft

Step inside and the Q3 reveals its most significant leap forward. Borrowing cues from Audi’s full-size models, the cabin centres on a sweeping digital stage that combines an 11.9-inch instrument display with a 12.8-inch MMI touchscreen. The interface runs on Android Automotive OS, supporting third-party apps like YouTube, while the Audi Assistant—now visualised as an AI-powered avatar—responds naturally to voice commands and learns from driver behaviour.

Practicality remains a cornerstone. The rear bench slides and reclines as standard, expanding boot space from 488 litres (375 litres in the e-hybrid) to more than 1,300 litres when folded. Acoustic glazing, standard on all UK models, enhances refinement on long journeys, while materials such as Econyl carpets and recycled polyester fabrics signal Audi’s commitment to sustainability.

Ambient lighting packages and SONOS premium audio further elevate the experience, ensuring that the compact SUV feels anything but entry-level.

Powertrains for Every Journey

Efficiency and performance define the new Q3 family. The line-up begins with the 150PS TFSI petrol, featuring mild-hybrid technology, and a 150PS TDI diesel suited to long-distance driving. Higher up the range, two potent quattro-equipped petrol models deliver 204PS and 265PS respectively, with the latter sprinting from 0–62mph in just 5.7 seconds.

The star of the line-up, however, is the Q3 e-hybrid. Pairing a turbocharged 1.5-litre petrol engine with an electric motor, it produces a combined 272PS and 400Nm of torque. Thanks to a new 25.7kWh battery, the plug-in hybrid offers an impressive electric range of up to 72 miles (WLTP) and can recharge at up to 50kW DC, recovering from 10 to 80 per cent in under 30 minutes.

Dynamics and Assistance from the Full-Size Class

Driving refinement has been enhanced with a choice of adaptive suspensions, including a new two-valve damper system that balances comfort and agility with remarkable precision. Progressive steering, standard on the Sportback, delivers sharper responses, while Audi drive select introduces a new “balanced mode” as the default, ensuring poise in everyday driving.

Technology once reserved for larger Audi models now finds its way into the Q3. Driver assistance systems range from fatigue detection with interior camera monitoring to adaptive driving assistance capable of handling acceleration, braking, and lane guidance at motorway speeds. The SUV even learns individual parking manoeuvres—such as fitting into a tight garage—and can replicate them independently at the press of a button.

Pricing and UK Market Launch

The new Audi Q3 SUV arrives in the UK this September, priced from £38,300 for the entry-level 150PS TFSI Sport, with the efficient 150PS TDI starting at £40,000. The e-hybrid variant begins at £45,800, while the range-topping 265PS TFSI quattro Edition 1 reaches £52,450. The Q3 Sportback follows in October, with deliveries commencing before year-end, carrying its £1,500 premium across the line-up.

Trim levels will follow Audi’s familiar structure of Sport, S line, and Edition 1, with each offering progressively more equipment, styling differentiation, and technology.

A Compact SUV with Big Ambitions

Speaking on the launch, Gernot Döllner, CEO of AUDI AG, reaffirmed the model’s importance: “With the third generation of the Audi Q3, we are renewing an important model family as part of our product initiative and strengthening our range with a powerful plug-in hybrid and efficient combustion engines. The new model combines efficiency, driving dynamics, and comfort.”

For customers, the message is clear. The Q3 is no longer simply an entry point into Audi ownership—it is a fully-fledged premium SUV with technology, efficiency, and refinement that echo the brand’s flagship models. Whether in practical SUV guise or the sportier Sportback form, the new Q3 sets a benchmark in its segment, reaffirming Audi’s commitment to innovation at every level of its portfolio.
