Rüsselsheim – Opel has taken the wraps off its latest show car, the Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo, which will celebrate its world premiere at the IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich (8–14 September). True to its name, the concept not only previews the next generation of Opel’s performance-focused GSE sub-brand but also enters the virtual world, where it will be driveable in Gran Turismo 7 on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 this autumn.
With a striking design paired with electrifying performance, the Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo embodies the pinnacle of Opel’s small-car performance ethos. Powered by two electric motors delivering a combined 588 kW (800 hp) and 800 Nm of torque, the concept boasts permanent all-wheel drive, a 0–100 km/h sprint in just 2.0 seconds, and a top speed of 320 km/h. A temporary boost function adds an extra 80 hp for up to four seconds, ensuring rapid overtaking both in reality and in the simulator.
Despite housing an 82 kWh battery, the concept tips the scales at just 1170 kg, thanks to the extensive use of lightweight materials.
Bold and Pure Design Language
The Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo builds on Opel’s Bold and Pure design philosophy with a more technical, performance-driven execution. Its proportions are wider and lower than the production Corsa, accentuating its muscular stance.
At the front, a slim interpretation of the Opel Vizor frames an illuminated Opel Blitz at the centre of the signature Opel Compass, now elevated as the car’s central spine and continued in the rear lighting signature. Contrasting colour choices – pearl white bodywork, bold yellow aero elements, black roof and aero blades – amplify the car’s presence, with staggered 21-inch (front) and 22-inch (rear) wheels emphasising its track-ready character.
Aerodynamic optimisation plays a central role, with features including an aero bonnet, blade fender flares, active aero diffusor, and adaptive rear spoiler. Together, these elements ensure stability, efficiency, and handling precision at high speeds.

A Detoxed Racing Experience
Inside, the cockpit embodies a “detoxed” philosophy. A sleek steering wheel and head-up display projection replace traditional screens, keeping the driver’s focus on the road ahead. The suspended lightweight sport seat with six-point harness integrates the driver into the roll-cage-protected cabin, while illuminated fabrics act as interactive safety alerts, signalling hazards such as vehicles in the blind spot.
Heritage Meets Innovation
As Opel CEO Florian Huettl explains:
“The Opel Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo takes our GSE sub-brand to the next level. For the first time, an Opel concept is not only admired from afar – it can be experienced by everyone in Gran Turismo 7.”
Gran Turismo series producer Kazunori Yamauchi echoed the sentiment, highlighting Opel’s strong racing heritage and the excitement of bringing the Vision Gran Turismo concept to both the digital and physical worlds.
Marking 60 years since the Opel Experimental GT – the brand’s first-ever concept car – the Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo underscores Opel’s long tradition of forward-thinking design. By merging its motorsport roots, the iconic Corsa nameplate, and cutting-edge electric performance, the concept redefines what a small performance car can be – both on the road and in the digital space.
