Honda’s ever-popular NC750X is back with a sharper, more connected, and more sustainable update for the 2025 model year (25YM). As one of South Africa’s most beloved twin-cylinder all-rounders, the NC750X remains a benchmark for intelligent motorcycling – and now it does so with award-winning design credentials, enhanced rider-focused technology, and a bold new visual identity.

Honda Takes Top Honours at 2025 Red Dot Design Awards

Leading the charge in Honda’s refreshed two-wheeler line-up, the NC750X has earned the prestigious Red Dot Design Award in the Product Design category, affirming its place as a leader in functional yet aesthetically striking motorcycle design. This win marks the sixth consecutive year Honda has been honoured with a Red Dot accolade – a testament to the brand’s relentless pursuit of design excellence.

Notably, Honda’s electric EM1 e: model also walked away with an iF Design Award – reinforcing the brand’s innovative edge across both combustion and electric mobility.

A Proven Formula, Refined for the Future

Originally launched as the NC700X in 2012, the NC750X has continuously evolved without straying from its winning formula: effortless torque, practical comfort, and class-defining versatility. Over the years, updates like the 745cc engine, DCT refinement, LED lighting, and Selectable Torque Control have kept it competitive across markets.

For 25YM, the NC750X receives a host of thoughtful updates. These include subtle styling changes, a new five-inch full-colour TFT display, upgraded brakes, lightweight wheels, and improved Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) response. Importantly, it also marks Honda’s first use of coloured Durabio, a bio-based, sustainable material, on a production motorcycle.

Model Overview: Smart Tech Meets Everyday Adventure

The 2025 NC750X cuts a more assertive figure thanks to its refreshed bodywork, revised LED headlight and compact silhouette that blends toughness with aerodynamic efficiency. A built-in screen provides effective wind protection, while the updated seat, revised storage lid, and premium textures signal a more upscale feel.

The new TFT screen, boasting high visibility through optical bonding, adds more than just clarity. Riders can now access turn-by-turn navigation, make calls, or stream music thanks to Honda RoadSync integration, controlled via a new intuitive backlit toggle switch on the left handlebar.

Retaining its trademark 23L internal storage where the fuel tank would normally be, the NC750X continues to impress with real-world practicality. Whether commuting or heading out for the weekend, there’s enough room for an adventure-style helmet – and even a USB port and organiser for added convenience.

Engine and Performance: Refined Power, Effortless Control

Powering the NC750X is Honda’s smooth, fuel-efficient 745cc parallel twin-cylinder engine, delivering 43.1kW and 69Nm of torque. Designed for real-world rideability, the engine’s torque-rich character and long-stroke architecture make for relaxed, confident riding – whether in traffic or out on the open road.

Throttle By Wire (TBW) enables three pre-set riding modes, plus a customisable ‘USER’ mode. Updated Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) gives riders control over rear wheel traction in changing conditions, with an improved RAIN mode for low-grip scenarios.

The Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT), a defining feature of the NC750X range, has also been fine-tuned for 25YM. It now delivers even smoother gear changes at low speeds, making urban riding more intuitive and fluid.

Chassis, Braking and Suspension

Handling updates complete the package. The NC750X now comes equipped with dual 296mm front brake discs paired with two-piston calipers, replacing the previous single-disc setup for increased stopping power and confidence. The 17-inch wheels feature a new lightweight 3×3 spoke design that offsets the added mass of the improved braking system.

Suspension is managed by Showa 41mm telescopic front forks and a Pro-Link rear monoshock, striking a balance between comfort and precision. Seat height is set at an approachable 800mm, making the NC750X accessible to a broad range of riders.

Genuine Accessories for Customisation

Honda offers a comprehensive range of accessories tailored to the NC750X. These include:

  • Adjustable touring screen
  • Comfort seat with enhanced padding
  • USB charging socket
  • Luggage compartment divider
  • Heated grips
  • Rear carrier and top box
  • Side panniers and mounting systems

These additions further enhance the bike’s go-anywhere, do-anything ethos – perfect for South African riders who demand both function and flair.
