Two next-generation Mercedes-Benz trucks – the all-electric eActros 600 and the diesel-free Actros L ProCabin running on HVO – have completed a landmark delivery to Paris Fashion Week, transporting catwalk set designs for a leading British luxury fashion house. The logistics operation, executed by KB Event in partnership with Mertrux Truck & Van, underscored how sustainable freight is becoming an essential thread in fashion’s changing landscape.
Sustainability has quickly evolved from an industry talking point to a prerequisite for global fashion houses. Some designers now craft collections using up to 98% sustainable materials, pushing the conversation beyond aesthetics to include every element behind the scenes – including transportation. This year’s Paris Fashion Week was no exception.
A Zero-Emission Journey from the UK to Paris
The eActros 600, crowned International Truck of the Year 2025, took centre stage on the logistics side of the event. Travelling from the UK to Paris with an average weight of 27 tonnes, the battery-electric truck covered 772 miles (1,242 km) on 100% renewable energy. Its real-world data showed it could achieve nearly 600 km on a single charge, reinforcing its capability for long-distance European haulage.
On the same route, the eActros saved approximately 844 kg of CO₂ compared with a conventional diesel truck – equivalent to what 37 mature trees absorb over an entire year. Alongside it, an Actros L ProCabin powered by renewable HVO further reduced the environmental footprint of the operation.
For KB Event, the switch to alternative propulsion systems required no compromise in timing or efficiency. Charging stops were seamlessly integrated into the delivery schedule, ensuring the set pieces arrived in Paris exactly as planned. One driver praised the electric long-hauler as “an amazing bit of kit,” highlighting the impressive power delivery even under heavy load.
Driving Fashion Forward
For Daimler Truck UK, Paris Fashion Week provided a high-profile stage to demonstrate that sustainable freight is no longer a future ambition – it’s a practical, high-performance reality.
“With zero tailpipe emissions and a proven range of nearly 600 km on the trip to Paris, the eActros 600 shows that electric freight can match the demands of high-tempo events while helping fashion move in a greener direction,” said Leanne Clark, eConsultancy Manager at Daimler Truck UK. “Using the eActros 600 to serve Paris Fashion Week underscores our belief that sustainable logistics shouldn’t be optional – they must deliver both performance and impact.”
The participating British fashion house echoed the sentiment, noting the significance of this year’s show coinciding with the 10-year anniversary of the Paris Climate Agreement. In collaboration with NGO ACT1.5, the brand committed to a 360º approach to sustainability, integrating lower-impact materials, electric transportation and HVO-powered energy sources into the event.
Engineering Built for the Long Haul
The Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 is engineered specifically for long-distance freight, with a gross combination weight of up to 44 tonnes. Its aerodynamic profile and 600+ kWh battery capacity maximise efficiency and range, while compatibility with Megawatt Charging Systems means it can replenish from 20% to 80% in just around 30 minutes – a major breakthrough for commercial operators demanding minimal downtime.
A New Chapter for Sustainable Runways
As fashion intensifies its focus on environmental responsibility, logistics is becoming a crucial part of the sustainability equation. This year’s Paris Fashion Week deliveries prove that electric and renewable-fuelled trucks can reliably support the world’s most demanding creative events – without the carbon costs traditionally associated with them.
With the eActros 600 leading the charge, the industry is one step closer to runways where the spotlight shines just as brightly on sustainable innovation as it does on style.
