Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium – 25 June 2025 — One year after capturing the most prestigious victory in modern GT3 endurance racing, Aston Martin returns to the Crowdstrike 24 Hours of Spa with a singular goal: to make history. The British marque, still riding high from its 2024 triumph with the new-generation Vantage GT3, now aims to become the first UK manufacturer to win the GT3-only classic in successive years.
In what is set to be Aston Martin’s largest Spa 24 Hours entry to date, a record eight Vantage GT3s will line up on the grid for the 78th running of the Belgian endurance epic—each car primed to chase outright and class honours on the revered 7-kilometre rollercoaster that winds through the Ardennes forest.
A Historic Defence
Leading the charge is last year’s overall winner Comtoyou Racing, which returns with its victorious works driver line-up intact. Marco Sørensen, Nicki Thiim and Mattia Drudi—three of the finest GT drivers in the world—reunite in the iconic #007 Vantage GT3. After stunning the sport with a sensational debut win in 2024, the trio now seek to achieve what no driver crew has done since 1980: win Spa back-to-back.
Their challenge comes amidst one of the most competitive GT3 fields ever assembled. With 77 entries and a grid brimming with factory talent, customer racing aces, and former winners, defending the crown will require both strategic precision and unshakeable stamina. Yet, if last year’s wet-and-wild race proved anything, it’s that the Vantage GT3 thrives in the crucible of true endurance racing.
Strength in Numbers
In total, eight of Aston Martin’s ten works drivers are competing this weekend across three partner teams: Comtoyou Racing, Walkenhorst Motorsport, and Verstappen.com Racing. The variety of entries spans the full spectrum of classes—Pro, Silver Cup, Gold Cup, Pro-Am and Bronze—underscoring Aston Martin’s commitment to winning across the board.
Walkenhorst Motorsport, a former Spa 24 Hours winner, fields the #34 Vantage GT3 in the Pro class, with Christian Krognes, David Pittard and Henrique Chaves at the helm. All three are proven endurance performers and will rely on Walkenhorst’s deep Spa experience.
In the Silver Cup, the German team fields a youthful #35 crew, led by Ecuador’s Mateo Villagomez, French talent Romain Leroux, and rising Swedish GT3 star Oliver Söderström—each one hungry to prove themselves on the biggest GT3 stage of the year.
Verstappen.com Racing: Gold Cup Leaders
New for 2025, Verstappen.com Racing has quickly become one of the breakout teams of the season. Backed by F1 pedigree and technical support from 2Seas Motorsport, the team heads to Spa leading the Endurance Gold Cup standings after class wins at Paul Ricard and a second-place finish at Monza. The #Vantage, piloted by Harry King, Chris Lulham and Thierry Vermeulen, is poised to continue its momentum and mount a serious class victory challenge.
A Welcome Return for Beechdean
British squad Beechdean Motorsport adds a nostalgic twist to the line-up, returning to Spa on the 12th anniversary of its famous pole position in 2013. This year, the #100 Vantage GT3 sees team principal and two-time British GT champion Andrew Howard joined by works drivers Ross Gunn and Valentin Hasse-Clot, along with recent Le Mans Cup podium finisher Anthony McIntosh.
Talent Across All Classes
Comtoyou Racing alone fields four Aston Martin Vantages across multiple categories. In Pro-Am, Frederic Jousset, Bernardo Sousa, Sebastian Alvarez, and Sergio Sette Camara combine endurance and rallying expertise in a true multi-national effort. The team’s Silver Cup entry features 2025 AMR Academy graduate Jamie Day alongside seasoned Belgian talents Nicolas Baert and Kobe Pauwels, as well as Dutchman Xavier Maassen.
Even in the Bronze class, Aston Martin’s ambitions remain high. Belgian pairing Antoine Potty and Alexandre Leroy, along with Jessica Hawkins—Aston Martin Aramco Formula One® Team Driver Ambassador—will make their Spa 24 Hours debuts in a Vantage built for consistency and reliability.
Spa Legacy and a Chance at History
Aston Martin’s legacy at Spa spans nearly a century, from its class one-two in 1936 to its first outright win in 1948. In the modern era, the Vantage GT3 has already proven its mettle, with victories in GT4 and Pro-Am before last year’s landmark overall win. This year’s return is more than just a title defence—it’s a bid for immortality.
“Winning last year’s Crowdstrike 24 Hours of Spa at the first attempt with the new Vantage GT3 was an incredible achievement,” said Adam Carter, Head of Endurance Motorsport. “Returning this week with the chance to make history is a tantalising prospect. With proven race-winning partners, class-leading pace, and an unrivalled line-up of drivers, we’re ready to fight at the front in every category.”
With an unprecedented mix of factory firepower, partner team pedigree and class-leading customer talent, Aston Martin enters Spa 2025 not just as defending champions—but as the marque everyone will be chasing.
