Milton Keynes, UK, 16 March 2023 – The all-electric ID. Buzz Cargo has been named ‘Best Zero Emission Small Van’ at this year’s Fleet News Awards, thanks to the van’s driveability, high-quality design and electric range.
Celebrating the best-in-class across the whole industry, the Fleet News Awards recognise outstanding practice ranging from manufacturer support, dealership operations and products which make working life easier for fleets across the United Kingdom.
Following numerous other awards, including the prestigious International Van of the Year 2023, the ID. Buzz Cargo continues its winning streak. Praised in this instance for its design aesthetic and driveability with “excellent range”, judges also acknowledged the extensive support available throughout Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles’ Van Centres.
Commenting on the award, the judges at Fleet News said: “A clear winner in this category, the ID Buzz Cargo offers something new and exciting – it’s a game changer. Excellent range and driveability, it has the looks and quality to put other vans to shame and comes with the reassurance of VW’s comprehensive van network. With the capacity and payload to suit most needs, the best-in-class range and charging speed makes it more practical for a busy life on fleet.”
Nigel Button, National Contract Hire & Leasing Manager at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles who collected the award, said: “We are proud to receive this award presented by Fleet News which celebrates our all-electric ID. Buzz Cargo. As our most sustainable van in the commercial vehicles range, it was important to us that the much anticipated Buzz looked the part, and maintained the premium finish and strong driving experience which is synonymous with Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. To see this reflected in the judges comments is fantastic.”
The ID. Buzz Cargo offers all-electric power with no compromise. Thanks to the flexible modular electric drive matrix (MEB) chassis, the payload offers plenty of space, accommodating two Euro pallets loaded sideways, with an overall volume of up to 3.9m3. For fleets that are looking to make the switch to electric, this van can still provide the room that enterprises require, while being powered by a fully electric engine, reducing on-road emissions to zero.
The van is available to purchase in two trim levels, Commerce and Commerce Plus, both offering a range of business-ready practicality, advanced connectivity, and driver assistance systems. Featuring a 77kWh (net capacity) lithium-ion battery, the ID. Buzz Cargo is capable of an all-electric range of up to 256 miles, and can be charged from 5-80% in thirty minutes via rapid charging (170kW cable).
Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has an extensive range of support available, which can be provided by one of over 60 Van Centres spread across the UK. From supporting fleets with choosing the right vehicle, to financial offers and support, to maintenance and aftercare, a team of experts will be able to support with any enquiries.
