25 August 2025, Gaydon, Great Britain – Aston Martin’s Vantage GT3 underlined its status as one of the most formidable GT racing machines in the world with a weekend of major successes on both sides of the Atlantic. From Spa-Francorchamps to Brands Hatch, and across to Virginia International Raceway, Vantage delivered a winning blend of pace, resilience, and engineering excellence.
European Le Mans Series: Glory at Spa
At Spa-Francorchamps, the Racing Spirit of Leman team claimed its maiden European Le Mans Series (ELMS) class victory, reinforcing the French squad’s reputation as one of the season’s standout contenders.
Clement Mateu set the tone with a strong qualifying effort in wet conditions, placing the #10 Vantage GT3 third in LMGT3. Alongside team-mates Erwan Bastard and Aston Martin works driver Valentin Hasse Clot, Mateu delivered a commanding four-hour performance. Their consistency and strategic execution paid off with a decisive win, vaulting the trio to the top of the championship standings with only two rounds left to contest.
The victory builds on Racing Spirit of Leman’s momentum after securing Aston Martin’s first LMGT3 podium in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) at São Paulo last month.
IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship: Fighting Spirit at VIR
Meanwhile in North America, Aston Martin’s Seattle-based partner, The Heart of Racing (THOR), delivered another standout performance in IMSA’s fiercely competitive GTD class at Virginia International Raceway.
After contact on the opening lap dropped the #27 Vantage GT3 from fourth to eleventh, British driver Casper Stevenson mounted a determined recovery drive, climbing back into contention before handing over to works driver Tom Gamble. The duo pushed relentlessly through the middle stints, ultimately seizing a third-place finish, just three seconds off the win.
The result propels Stevenson to second in the Drivers’ standings, while THOR moves into second place in the Teams’ championship with two endurance showpieces still to come: Indianapolis and Petit Le Mans.

British GT Championship: Beechdean Extends Silver-Am Lead
Back in the UK, Beechdean Motorsport reaffirmed its dominance in the British GT Championship’s Silver-Am class with victory at Brands Hatch. Andrew Howard and Tom Wood produced a strong showing in the Vantage GT3, securing not only class honours but also finishing fifth overall in a competitive field.
This marked Beechdean’s second consecutive Silver-Am victory at Brands Hatch, reinforcing its reputation as one of the most consistent and decorated outfits in the series. Meanwhile, Blackthorn’s #7 Vantage, piloted by Giacomo Petrobelli and Aston Martin works driver Jonny Adam, finished fourth overall and moved into second in the championship standings. Adam now remains firmly in contention for a record-breaking fifth series title.
A Testament to Vantage’s Enduring Excellence
The Aston Martin Vantage GT3 continues to prove itself as one of the most adaptable and competitive GT cars globally. Sharing its DNA with the ultra-luxury Vantage road car, the GT3 is built on Aston Martin’s bonded aluminium chassis and powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine – a combination that has established it as a weapon of choice for professional and partner teams alike.
Adam Carter, Aston Martin’s Head of Endurance Motorsport, praised the results:
“It’s been a very good weekend for Vantage with wins and podiums in three series that are extremely important to Aston Martin. These results continue to prove the adaptability and performance of the Vantage GT3 on a variety of circuits and highlight the fantastic job being done by our partner teams. We congratulate them all and will give them – and all AMR partner teams – our full support as they push for title success in their respective championships.”
Looking Ahead
With ELMS titles up for grabs, IMSA entering its climactic endurance rounds, and the British GT season on the brink of crowning champions, Aston Martin’s Vantage remains at the heart of multiple championship battles. This latest wave of success cements its reputation as not just Aston Martin’s most successful racing car, but also a defining force in global GT competition.
