Team Ford Racing are gearing up for the penultimate round of the ABSA Off Road Championship, the Toyota Dealer 400 taking place on the 2nd and 3rd of November in the Lydenburg area for a promised tough and varied route.
Neil Woolridge and Kenny Skjoldhammer competing in the Class SP Production Vehicle category with their 4.0l Ford Ranger will be looking to secure some strong results as this year’s season draws nearer to an end.
“We had a good showing at the previous round with a podium as our reward,” comments Woolridge. “We’ve done a lot of development this year and its really starting to pay off as such we’ll be aiming for top placings at the final two rounds of the season.”
Brandon Harcus and Juan Mohr will also be looking to fair strongly at the Lydenburg event. “It will be good to have Juan back in the navigator seat. We had a great start to the season and would be good to conclude the season in the same vein,” says Harcus.
While Woolridge and Harcus will be going all out to impress in the very competitive SP Class Jack Peckham and Lucio Santoro will be looking to maintain their dominant stance in Class E.
“We’ve has a good run in recent events so we’d like to keep that momentum going,” explains Peckham. “The championship is looking good at this point but we’re not about to let our guard down so we’ll be going all out in Lydenburg.”
In addition to the three factory entries will be a handful of privateer runners representing the Ford marquee. Botswana based Cor van Os will be partnered by Arjen Kuipers in their Barclays Ford Ranger in the Class E battle, while Kobus van Tonder and navigator Riaan Guelpa will also be hoping for a strong outing in their Unifreight SP Ford Ranger. Mark Ferguson and Craig West complete the line up in their class SP Ford Ranger.
“It’s hard to believe we’re already approaching the final stages of the championship,” continues Ford Racing team leader Neil Woolrdige. “We have a great mix of speed and experience in the team and everyone is committed to achieving good results in the last two rounds.”
