Mladá Boleslav, 29 August 2025 – Škoda Auto is stepping onto new terrain as an official partner of the 2025 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships, marking its first collaboration with the flagship event. Running from 30 August to 14 September across seven venues in Switzerland’s Valais canton, the championships will bring together multiple formats in a two-week celebration of cycling. A total of 27 World Championship titles will be awarded in disciplines ranging from cross-country Olympic and downhill to enduro, e-enduro and pump track.
To support the organisers, Škoda is providing 13 electrified vehicles and will design the iconic ‘hot seat’ for downhill leaders, emblazoned with Škoda livery. The brand will also showcase the new Enyaq and Kodiaq at selected venues, while the Enyaq and Elroq will feature in the expo areas. With up to 100,000 fans expected on-site and several million more tuning in worldwide, Škoda will amplify its presence through fan zones, hospitality experiences, and dedicated coverage on its WeLoveCycling.com platform, including competitions with prizes such as a specialised Škoda carbon gravel bike and VIP tickets.
“Cycling has been part of Škoda’s story for 130 years and remains a core part of our DNA today,” said Martin Jahn, Škoda Auto Board Member for Sales and Marketing. “We’ve proudly supported the sport for more than two decades – from international races to everyday riders. Partnering with the UCI Mountain Bike World Championships reinforces our commitment to active, adventurous customers who see cycling as a natural part of their lifestyle.”

A Landmark Format for 2025
This year introduces a fresh structure to the championships, combining multiple disciplines into one major event. The action begins in Sion, with a spectacular downhill opener and a world-record attempt, before moving to six further destinations, including renowned resorts such as Zermatt and Crans-Montana. Alongside elite competition, fans will enjoy live performances, expo areas, and Škoda’s interactive hospitality space featuring outdoor-themed experiences like roof tent demonstrations and bicycle test rides.
Strengthening Cycling Ties
Škoda’s partnership with the UCI Mountain Bike World Championships complements its growing support for cycling across disciplines. In addition to extending its long-standing agreement with A.S.O. through 2028 – which covers iconic road events such as the Tour de France, La Vuelta, and the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift – the brand has confirmed it will also sponsor the UCI Gravel World Championships in the Netherlands this October.
Founded in 1895 as a bicycle manufacturer by Václav Laurin and Václav Klement, Škoda has never strayed far from its cycling roots. Today, its continued investment in the sport underscores its ambition to position itself as the leading brand for active, functionally oriented customers across both European and global markets.
