Motorcycle enthusiasts and collectors alike will have their eyes on the National Motorcycle Museum in Solihull this Wednesday, 30th October, as six pristine Ducati motorcycles, including limited edition and replica models, from a private collection, go up for auction. The sale, hosted by H&H Classics, promises an exciting opportunity for those with a passion for Italian engineering and motorcycling heritage.
Among the star attractions of the auction are rare Ducati models that capture the essence of racing history, with each bike boasting low mileage and exceptional condition, offering collectors a unique opportunity to own a piece of motorcycling excellence.
Rare and Limited-Edition Ducatis Up for Grabs
Leading the collection is a 2002 Ducati 998S Ben Bostrom Replica, one of only 155 made for the UK market. Built to commemorate the legendary American racer Ben Bostrom’s success in the World Superbike Championship, this machine is estimated to fetch between £15,000 and £17,000. Mike Davis, motorcycle specialist at H&H Classics, expressed his excitement: “This 2002 replica is a stunning example and has been very well cared for. Just 155 were made for the UK and the same number for the US market, making it a highly sought-after collector’s item.”
Another standout is the 1999 Ducati 916 SPS Carl Fogarty Replica, a tribute to the four-time World Superbike Champion. With just 5,821 miles on the clock, this machine is expected to draw significant attention with an estimated value of £13,000 to £15,000. The model even boasts a unique ‘V2 FGY’ number plate, adding further allure to this racing homage.
Fans of Ducati’s illustrious past will also be keen to bid on a 1997 MkV 900 Superlight, number 44 of just 309 produced. This bike, with a little over 10,000 miles, offers a great balance of exclusivity and practical use, estimated to sell for £4,500 to £5,500.
For those seeking a true gem, the 1995 Ducati 748 Biposto, displaying just 4,601 miles, is another finely preserved piece of motorcycling history. With an estimate of £4,000 to £5,000, it is sure to be a popular lot for collectors looking for an immaculate example.
Also on offer is the stunning 1993 Ducati 888 SP5, a limited edition model with a bespoke ‘K888 TRC’ number plate. This beauty, one of only 500 produced, is in fantastic condition with under 5,000 miles and is estimated to command between £14,000 and £16,000.
Rounding out this stellar collection is the 1990 Ducati 851, an iconic model that marked the beginning of Ducati’s dominance in Superbike racing. Estimated at £5,000 to £7,000, it stands out with its distinctive white frame and original condition.

A Once-in-a-Lifetime Opportunity for Ducati Collectors
