July 18, 2024 – This year, Mitsubishi Motors UK is celebrating its golden anniversary with a series of special events that are generating considerable excitement and interest.
The highlight of these celebrations is a 100-mile rally through the picturesque Cotswolds countryside on September 21. The rally will start at Mitsubishi Motors UK’s head office in Watermoor, Cirencester, and conclude at the historic Badminton House. This venue is closely associated with Mitsubishi Motors due to its 25-year sponsorship of the renowned Badminton Horse Trials.
Applications for the Golden Jubilee Tour opened in May and are limited to just 50 spots, with entries closing at the end of July. The response from customers across the nation has been overwhelmingly positive, with many applications already received from owners of vehicles spanning every decade and model sold by the company over the past 50 years. Mitsubishi Motors UK is particularly eager to receive applications from enthusiasts with rarer models like the Lonsdale and Tredia. Additionally, they welcome entries featuring unique or special customer or vehicle stories.

Mitsubishi Motors UK is also delighted to announce that Jack Morris-Marsham, one of the company’s founders in 1974, originally known as The Colt Car Company, and a former Managing Director and Vice-Chairman, will officially start the rally in Cirencester.

Alongside the rally, several of the 110 Mitsubishi Motors dealers across the UK will be hosting local celebratory events. A key aim of these celebrations is to raise funds for two chosen charities: the British Heart Foundation and the British Red Cross.
To further commemorate the fiftieth anniversary, it has been confirmed that a new club celebrating The Colt Car Company and Mitsubishi Motors UK will be launched at the Classic Car Show at the NEC in November. A stand featuring a five-car display has been allocated for this event. The club is being established by Stephen Blackburn, son of David Blackburn, the visionary behind the company’s launch in 1974.
