In a market where every cent counts and every specification can sway a purchase decision, Hyundai Automotive South Africa has sharpened its competitive edge with the introduction of a new Executive derivative to its GRAND i10 range.
The move comes at a time when the entry-level vehicle segment in South Africa is under intense pressure, with brands competing not only on affordability but increasingly on safety, refinement, and perceived value. The refreshed offering aims to strike that balance more decisively, bringing meaningful upgrades to one of Hyundai’s most accessible nameplates.
At the centre of the update is the inclusion of enhanced safety equipment as standard across the new Executive derivative of the Hyundai GRAND i10. Side and curtain airbags now form part of the package, alongside an Electronic Stability Programme, a combination designed to improve occupant protection while enhancing control and stability in real-world driving conditions. The model will be available with both manual and automatic transmissions, broadening its appeal across different driver preferences.
According to Stanley Anderson, CEO of Hyundai Automotive South Africa, the decision reflects a deliberate and ongoing evolution of the brand’s product strategy. He emphasised that improvements such as these are not isolated updates, but part of a broader commitment to continuous refinement in response to changing customer expectations and technological progress.
While the Executive derivative adds a new layer to the range, the existing GRAND i10 Premium models will remain on sale, ensuring that customers continue to benefit from a wide spread of pricing and specification options within the segment. This dual-line approach allows Hyundai to serve both value-focused buyers and those seeking a more feature-rich entry point.
Anderson further noted that this latest enhancement underscores the brand’s intent to remain firmly competitive in the entry-level space, while reinforcing long-term brand value through steady, feature-led innovation rather than abrupt reinvention.
Additional information, including pricing and market availability, will be communicated in due course as the updated range rolls out to dealerships.
