Kia is unveiling its Design Cultural Communication Project during the 2024 Milan Design Week, set to captivate audiences from April 15 to 21 at the Museo della Permanente in Milan, Italy. This year’s showcase will feature an array of new artworks by esteemed artists, each piece deeply rooted in Kia’s ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy.
Reflecting on the previous year’s Milan Design Week, Kia introduced its design ethos through the Opposites United Exhibition, fostering a vibrant dialogue among a diverse group of attendees. This engagement prompted a rich exchange of ideas and interpretations.
Building on last year’s insights, the 2024 exhibition is poised to deepen these conversations. Kia aims to transform the event into a dynamic interaction between artists, designers, performers, and attendees, rather than just presenting its own narrative. The exhibition will feature three distinct art installations: Personal and Collective, Tangible and Intangible, and Finite and Infinite, each designed to challenge and expand cultural and creative perceptions.

Personal and Collective
Exploring the balance between individual expression and collective experience, Anna Galtarossa’s ‘The Spirit of Disco’ offers a kaleidoscopic, multi-sensory journey through personal perspectives fused with augmented reality. In contrast, Riccardo Benassi’s ‘Daily Dense Dance Desiderio’ delves into a digital reflection of collective ecstasy, presented in a conceptual, monochromatic style.
Tangible and Intangible
Sissel Tolaas redefines sensory engagement with ‘whereareWEarewhere,’ a high-tech installation that creates a novel olfactory experience. This piece plays with the concept of imaginable scents, pushing the boundaries of how we perceive and remember the world around us through the innovative use of scent.
Finite and Infinite
Highlighting a synthesis of cultural opposites, ‘The Dragon0 Universe’ by Danilo Grande and Benny Lai merges Eastern and Western philosophies through their Neuronal LED technology. This installation not only serves as a stage for performances but also acts as a living, responsive entity, exploring the interplay between technology and traditional artistic practices.
The 2024 exhibition at Milan Design Week invites visitors to step into a realm where imagination knows no bounds, encouraging a fresh exploration of design, art, and technology that transcends traditional frameworks and cultural limitations.
