Honda riders, Jonathan Rea and Hiroshi Aoyama, have journeyed to Russia for the first time for this weekend’s (25-27 August) eleventh round of the 2012 World Superbike championship at the recently completed Moscow Raceway.

Jonathan Rea finished 14th fastest in today’s opening qualifying session for round eight of the 2012 World Superbike championship at Motorland Aragon in Spain. His Honda World Superbike team-mate, Hiroshi Aoyama, was 18th quickest as Italian Marco Melandri led the way to provisional pole position.

Following the last round at Misano, the 2012 World Superbike championship has reached the halfway stage and regroups for round eight at a blisteringly hot Motorland Aragon in Spain.

Jonathan Rea set the second fastest time in this afternoon’s first qualifying session for round seven of the 2012 World Superbike championship at Misano in Italy and declared himself happy with progress.
