The SEAT Leon has received a series of significant updates, enhancing its powertrain options and in-cabin technology. The latest model introduces a new 1.5 TSI engine delivering 115PS (85kW) and 220Nm of torque. Alongside this, a new generation of eHybrid engines (plug-in hybrid) is now available, boasting 204PS (150kW) and offering over 100km of all-electric range.
Martorell, 13/05/2024 – SEAT’s flagship model, the Leon, has undergone a comprehensive upgrade, featuring new engines and advanced digitalisation in its cockpit for both the 5-door and Estate versions.

The SEAT Leon remains a cornerstone in SEAT’s lineup, available with a broad spectrum of powertrains that include four different technologies: TSI (petrol), eTSI (mild hybrid), TDI (diesel), and eHybrid (plug-in hybrid). There are seven powertrain options, ranging from 115PS (85kW) to 204PS (150kW), all exclusively featuring four-cylinder engines: either 1.5 TSI (petrol, mild hybrid, and plug-in hybrid) or 2.0 TDI (diesel).
The entry-level SEAT Leon now features the 1.5 TSI engine, replacing the previous 1.0 TSI, with increased output of 115PS (85kW) and 220Nm of torque. Paired with a 6-speed manual transmission, it boasts CO2 emissions of 120-132g/km and fuel consumption of 5.3-5.8 litres per 100km based on the official WLTP test cycle.
Additionally, the Leon offers two mild hybrid (eTSI) options: a 1.5-litre engine available with 115PS (85kW) and 150PS (110kW), both paired with a 7-speed DSG transmission. These engines integrate 48V mild-hybrid technology, enhancing both efficiency and driving comfort.
The new generation eHybrid engine for the SEAT Leon delivers 204PS (150kW) and 350Nm of torque. This plug-in hybrid system combines a 1.5-litre TSI 150PS (110kW) petrol engine with a 115PS (85kW) electric motor and a 19.7kWh lithium-ion battery. This setup provides an all-electric range of over 100km and supports fast charging up to 50kW on DC chargers and 11kW on AC wallboxes at home.
Technological upgrades extend to the Leon’s exterior, with new optional matrix LED headlamps available for the first time on SEAT’s hatchback. Inside, the Leon features a revamped digital cockpit with a new human-machine interface (HMI). This includes a 10.25” digital cockpit behind the steering wheel and an upgraded infotainment system available in 10.4” standard and 12.9” optional sizes, both with a retro-illuminated slider. For mobile device charging, the Leon now offers up to 15W wireless fast charging with refrigerated technology.
Designed, developed, and produced at SEAT’s Martorell facilities in Barcelona, the updated SEAT Leon will commence production this month (May 2024).
