Volvo Car South Africa is thrilled to introduce Moss Yellow, a dynamic new color option for the EX30 electric vehicle, now available locally. This vibrant shade adds a fresh dimension to the palette of the groundbreaking, fully electric EX30.
Historically, yellow is a significant color for Volvo, having adorned classic models such as the P1900, the 1800ES, and the 850 T-5R. The new Moss Yellow, created exclusively for the EX30, draws its inspiration from the lichen-covered rocks along Sweden’s west coast, contrasting with the Cloud Blue color that recalls the Swedish skies.
In South Africa, Moss Yellow is uniquely available for the Plus and Ultra trim levels of the EX30, making it the most striking choice among the model’s five color options. This solid tone pairs with a Pine interior in the Plus configuration and a Mist interior in the Ultra variant, always complemented by a standard Onyx Black roof.
Greg Maruszewski, Managing Director of Volvo Car SA, explained, “Moss Yellow not only enhances the EX30’s energetic appeal but also highlights its distinctive position in the electric vehicle market. It embodies a perfect blend of performance, luxury, safety, and value, ensuring it stands out significantly.”
The EX30 was launched in South Africa in February 2024 as one of the most affordable fully electric cars in the market. Starting at R775,900, this model is offered in several configurations, including single or twin motor options, two battery capacities (51 kWh and 69 kWh), and three trim levels (Core, Plus, Ultra). The top-tier Twin Motor Performance setup offers a peak output of 315 kW and 543 Nm, achieving 0-100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds, making it Volvo’s quickest model to date.
Despite its high performance, the EX30 is designed to minimize its environmental impact, aligning with Volvo’s commitment to sustainability. This initiative marks a significant step towards the company’s environmental goals, offering a sustainable, yet powerful vehicle option for the South African market.
