Volvo Car South Africa (VCSA) has officially joined forces with The Sharks as the rugby franchise’s Official Vehicle Partner, in a landmark collaboration that blends sporting prestige with Scandinavian automotive excellence. This dynamic partnership underscores a mutual commitment to innovation, sustainability and setting new standards—both on and off the field.

Two Icons United by Purpose

The Sharks enjoy a proud rugby heritage and a deep-rooted connection to their community, while Volvo has long stood as a global leader in design, safety and environmental responsibility. Far more than a commercial arrangement, the alliance reflects a natural meeting of minds between two brands that value integrity, performance and progress.

“This new partnership with Volvo is a very exciting moment for us,” said The Sharks CEO, Shaun Bryans. “Volvo is a world-class brand with an outstanding reputation for excellence, and we are proud to align with a company that shares our passion for innovation, quality and collaboration.”

Driving Excellence On and Off the Field

For Volvo Car South Africa, the partnership is an opportunity to bring its core values into the heart of South African sport and its communities. “Volvo is built on a foundation of safety, sustainability, and innovation,” noted Grant Locke, Managing Director of VCSA. “Partnering with The Sharks allows us to extend these values beyond our vehicles, supporting a team and a community that share our standards of excellence and commitment to impact.”

To support the partnership, VCSA will provide The Sharks with a fleet of premium vehicles, including the XC60, XC90, and the fully electric EX30—currently one of South Africa’s best-selling EVs. These models will ensure players and management travel in the hallmark comfort, style and safety that define the Volvo brand.

A Platform for Future Collaboration

Looking ahead, both organisations plan to explore initiatives that highlight their shared dedication to sustainability, road safety and community upliftment. Whether through grassroots programmes or environmental projects, the partnership aims to create a lasting impact well beyond the rugby pitch.

Raising the Bar Together

This collaboration marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for both The Sharks and Volvo Car South Africa—two trusted names committed to excellence and innovation in their respective arenas. Together, they are set to inspire both fans and motorists, proving that when great brands unite around shared values, the result is more than a partnership—it’s a movement.
