A range of dynamic exterior design cues help give the Territory ST a commanding and purposeful stance on the road. A bonnet scoop, dual exhaust outlets, ST badging and unique five spoke 18″ alloy wheels all play their role in differentiating the ST from the rest of the line-up. An exciting range of new metallic paint options add further colour choices to the Territory range.
Market research inputs were incorporated into the overall design of the vehicle. Key considerations from customers included the size of the bonnet scoop, and the degree of differentiation between the turbo and non-turbo variants.
Overwhelmingly, customers declared they wanted a bonnet scoop that provided function over form. With this in mind, designers were able to design a scoop of the appropriate size, which met with research approval and also provided a real sense of power and sporty sophistication.
The colour palette across the Territory range has been extended with three striking new metallic paints – Seduce (red), Neo (blue – unique to Territory ST) and Ego (charcoal). These new colours are representative of the elegance associated with the new vehicle, and were created with executive appeal in mind.
Additional styling cues, which differentiate the ST, include dual exhaust outlets and ‘ST’ nomenclature. An ‘ST’ badge adorns the rear of the Territory, indicating its sporting heritage.
A unique diamond mesh front grille further differentiates the ST and also allows for improved cooling of the engine compartment.
Unique new 18″ alloy wheels enhance the stance and proportions of the vehicle. A silver skid plate at the front and rear of the vehicle provides an additional point of focus.
A sophisticated shade of charcoal, a colour that infers style and luxury, is used extensively throughout the interior of the new sports luxury Territory ST. Research helped determine that darker colours create an interior that is both alluring and exciting, exactly the attributes designers wanted to convey in the new Territory ST.
It also creates a real impact when someone gets into the vehicle – the interior is quite different from anything currently available in the Ford range and thus delivers a unique sense of elegance and prestige.
The interior of the Territory ST features a warm charcoal environment with eucalyptus contrast, which flows through to the warm charcoal leather seat trim featuring silver stitching and a six-way power driver seat.
Command driving position seats, which offer improved lateral support thanks to larger bolsters, and new front seat head restraints contribute further to the sporty appearance. A luxury sports steering wheel and leather wrapped park brake are complimented by a leather insert gear lever.
The Interior Command Centre (ICC) is finished in black onyx with satin chrome highlights, and is a real statement in style. It is sleek and sophisticated and creates a further sense of luxury and prestige.
The Territory ST unit includes a premium audio system with 6-disc in-dash CD player, colour screen and dual zone climate control. The instrument clusters are also unique to the ST model, with a distinguishable variation in illumination colour and finish between the other models.
In keeping with the virtues established by the original Territory, the new ST model continues to provide an exceptionally innovative interior. The ST boasts more than 30 storage compartments including a lockable compartment under the driver’s seat and a removable, dishwasher safe rubbish bin.
Territory’s 60/40 split fold down second row seat further extends its versatile load carrying ability. With its flexible seating arrangements the Territory ST can carry up to seven people with the third row seats.
