The Suzuki brand will once again have a powerful presence at the Johannesburg International Motor Show. Situated outdoors on the Esplanade, opposite the lake at the Expo Centre Johannesburg, the Suzuki Adventure Zone promises to be an innovative hub showcasing all aspects of the marque’s Way of Life products.

The Suzuki Adventure Zone will not only feature Suzuki Auto South Africa’s extensive range of passenger cars and sports utility vehicles, but will also host Suzuki SA’s latest range of motorcycles and marine outboard engines – providing visitors with a comprehensive overview of the brand.

In addition, Suzuki’s all
-terrain vehicles, known for their real off-road capabilities and advanced automotive engineering, will be celebrating four decades of going anywhere, anytime at the Suzuki 4×4 stand, next to the off-road track at the Expo Centre.

Suzuki’s innovative Adventure Zone will be divided into two parts – Wild and Urban – inhabited by both current and new Suzuki products spanning a selection of premium road cars, versatile all-terrain vehicles, motorcycles and marine products.

One of the stars of the Suzuki Adventure Zone will be the all-new Kizashi sedan – a new addition to the C/D market segment, and Suzuki’s first foray into the medium car category. The Kizashi will be shown in both standard and exclusive Sport versions.

The Swift S-Concept is another high-profile addition to the Suzuki Adventure Zone. Based on the recently launched, new-generation Swift, it combines premium compact motoring with uncompromising dynamics. Lower and wider than the standard model, the Swift S-Concept features more aggressive styling, larger wheels, and an uprated drive train.

Also making an appearance at the show will be the Suzuki Splash – an exciting, funky family wagon that links compact dimensions to ease of use and a feel-good motoring experience. It is Suzuki’s fourth global strategic model (after the Swift, Grand Vitara and SX4) and is being considered for release in South Africa.

Another Suzuki passenger car that will be new to show visitors is the sedan derivative of the popular SX4 lifestyle hatchback. The four-door model offers the same combination of dynamic appeal, sporty style and extensive standard features, but adds the benefit of a large, secure boot.

Suzuki Auto’s Total Economy Run works team recently proved just how frugal it’s Swift and Alto compact hatchbacks can be in real-life conditions, and both cars will be on display in their full Total Economy Run livery.

Of course, Suzuki’s current range of cars and SUVs will all be represented at the Adventure Zone. These include the ultra-compact, super-frugal Alto, the new-generation Swift, and the SX4 lifestyle hatchback, as well as the hugely popular Jimny subcompact 4×4 and the Grand Vitara compact SUV.

Suzuki SA’s display of motorcycles will include tourers, commuters, scooters, enduro bikes and ATVs. Among the showcased models will be a GSX1250A grand tourer, a DL650 dual-purpose commuter, a RM-X450Z enduro machine, and the LT-F250 utility ATV.

Suzuki Marine will present its outboard motor range, together with both rigid hull and inflatable boats.

The Suzuki Adventure Zone will also feature a wild display with a difference – a zoo area, hosted in conjunction with the Lory Park wildlife sanctuary. The Midrand-based organisation seeks to address the impact of man-made hazards on the environment through education.

“It’s been three years since Suzuki celebrated its official presence in South Africa at the 2008 Johannesburg International Motor Show,” says Francois van Eeden, national marketing manager at Suzuki Auto SA.

“Since then, we have expanded our product range with the addition of several new models, including the Alto, the latest Swift, and most recently, the trend-setting Kizashi sedan. We have also increased the reach of our dealer network, and celebrated a milestone sales figure of 15 000 vehicles.

“This year, we aim to offer visitors to the motor show an overview of our current line-up, as well as a glimpse of the Suzuki future. Visiting Suzuki’s Adventure Zone will certainly be a thrilling experience,” he concluded.
