Volvo Car South Africa has released its Model Year 12 line-up and pricing, effective from July 2011. There are some exciting additions, such as the option of a silver roof on your C70 and audio streaming on all models, to make sure you stay up to date.
Volvo Car South Africa has given its entire range a comprehensive ‘make-over’ in terms of pricing and specification. This includes new Excel and Elite derivatives on most models and the addition of these new derivatives together with the useful option packs now gives customers a more comprehensive choice when choosing the Volvo that’s perfect for them.
It has also allowed for a fresh look at features on offer in each model range to re-package and set up new combinations that offer great value for money.
Along with the new MY12 line-up, Volvo has also introduced the updated Volvo XC70 and S80.
Volvo C30
With the C30, Volvo made its debut in the segment for two-door premium cars. The sporty design, four individual seats, and a glass tailgate, gives a young and dynamic group of customers “a Volvo of their own”.
The Volvo C30 displays clear elements of other classic Volvo models with a sporty pedigree, such as the Volvo 1800 ES. Anyone who recalls the acclaimed Volvo SCC (Safety Concept Car) will recognise the exclusive and convenient glass tailgate.
The grille has a unique pattern with the enlarged iron mark in the centre. The air intake resembles that of the XC60. Viewed from the side, the pronounced wheel housings and the sloping roof give the C30 a fast silhouette that is further enhanced by the markedly boat-shaped side windows. This has been created through the narrowing roof and the wide shoulders. The shoulders at the rear are powerfully rounded and accentuated by both the horseshoe-shaped lighting pattern of the tail lamps and the glass tailgate.
New on Volvo C30 in MY12:

Volvo C70
The Volvo C70 has a smart three-piece steel roof, practical seating for four adults and world-leading convertible safety. With a refined design and elevated premium feel, the C70 also delivers an “I want” aura of absolute world class. The C70 is two cars in one. It is as much an elegant coupe as a sporty convertible. With the same clean lines in both versions.
From head-on, the front forms an open, inviting “V”. The enlarged iron mark and the enlarged air intake reinforce the self-assured stance. The shoulder line swings up towards the rear to give an impression of dynamism and reinforces the feeling of a protective collar around those traveling in the back.

Volvo S40
The Volvo S40 gives customers large-car properties in a compact format and with clearly sporty overtones.
The Volvo S40 has a compact body with rounded lines and a clean-cut tail section. The car’s appearance exudes modern design and speed. The short bonnet and pronounced cab-forward stance help create a spacious cabin with generous interior space. The broad shoulders and convex side panels radiate power and emphasise the car’s compact dimensions.
The soft nose creates a broad, low stance thanks to its grille with the enlarged Volvo iron mark, headlamps and a lower air intake that sweeps across the entire front. The low, horizontal impression is reinforced when the car is seen from the side. At the rear, it is the shape of the tail lamps and the bumper that further boost the dynamic appearance.

Volvo S60
The all-new Volvo S60, launched at Geneva Motor Show in March 2010 has been sculpted to move you – both physically and emotionally. It has an extrovert attitude never before seen in Volvo showrooms. It is also without a doubt the most dynamic Volvo model so far.
The Volvo S60 is sportier and more dynamic than any previous Volvo. But it is still an unmistakable representative of Scandinavian design at its best. Virtually all the lines were penned to carve out the “coupe with four doors” profile. The C-pillar stretches sensually all the way to the tail lamps – and the slim coupe-like roof line is accompanied by a new contour on the shoulders on either side of the lower body, creating a sleek double wave from the headlamps at the front to the tail lamps at the rear.

Volvo S80
Building on great success in key markets, Volvo Cars’ large and exclusive sedan model – Volvo S80 – blends a distinctive and elegant design, an exclusive interior, a sharp chassis and upgraded engine range. Volvo V50
The Volvo V50 is one of the favourites among customers. Volvo Cars has its sights firmly set on customers with high demands on versatility combined with a touch of sportiness and premium feel.
The Volvo V50 has a compact body with rounded lines that exude modern design and speed. The short bonnet and pronounced cab-forward stance help create a spacious cabin with a generous interior. Despite its compact exterior dimensions, the Volvo V50 offers spacious flexibility. To free up extra load space, the car’s rear section is extended by 46 mm compared with the Volvo S40 sedan model. The black egg-crate grille with its larger Volvo iron mark emphasizes a sporty language. The new headlamps and the three sculpted lower air intakes are other details that give the colour-coordinated soft-nose V50 front an increased impression of solidity.

Volvo V60
The Volvo V60 is determined to give the all-new S60 sedan model a tough match for the title of “The Most Dynamic Volvo Model Ever”.
From a design viewpoint the focus was on making the car as close to a coupe as possible, while retaining that handy extra space at the rear. This sports wagon does not aim to compete with the traditional estate car. For the customer who wants a lot of load space, we offer our V50 or XC70.
The pronounced wedge shape and the slim coupe-like roof line of the new V60 together with the shoulder profile along the car’s sides, creates a sleek double wave from the headlamps at the front to the tail lamps at the rear.
The dip in the middle of the double wave visually pushes the car down. This enhances the stance and makes the car look sleeker and lower. The sculpted bonnet and the short overhangs front and rear also emphasise the sports car feel.
