Mladá Boleslav, 1 July 2024 – Škoda Auto is set to expand its all-electric SUV range with the introduction of the Elroq, a groundbreaking addition to the A Main SUV segment, the largest sub-segment in Europe by volume. Scheduled for its world premiere in autumn 2024, the Elroq is poised to revolutionize the electric SUV market with its innovative design and impressive features.

The Škoda Elroq is the first model to embrace the new Modern Solid design language, marking a significant evolution in Škoda’s exterior aesthetics. This compact yet spacious SUV offers a versatile and comfortable ride, featuring up to 1,580 litres of luggage capacity and clever storage solutions, making it ideal for both urban and suburban environments.

Under the hood, the Elroq boasts a comprehensive powertrain lineup with outputs ranging from 170 PS (125 kW) to 300 PS (220 kW), and a remarkable range of over 348 miles (560 km) (WLTP). With charging times under 28 minutes, the Elroq is designed to cater to long-distance travelers and city commuters alike.

Klaus Zellmer, CEO of Škoda Auto, highlighted the strategic importance of expanding the electric portfolio: “Growing our electric portfolio into several attractive new segments is key to our strategy of providing our customers with a wide choice of new models. The Elroq is a milestone in our BEV portfolio, the first in a lineup of six new fully electric models. Its bold new Modern Solid design and advanced technology make it the perfect balance of size, interior space, and electric mobility for the city and beyond.”

The Elroq’s compact dimensions and small turning circle make it an excellent choice for city driving, while its rugged body and optional all-wheel drive ensure it is well-suited for off-road adventures. Positioned between the Škoda Enyaq family and the upcoming Škoda Epiq, the Elroq offers an electric alternative to the Škoda Karoq.

Oliver Stefani, Head of Škoda Design, emphasized the innovative design of the Elroq: “The Škoda Elroq heralds a new era of Škoda design with its functional, minimalist, and clean Modern Solid look. This design language exudes authenticity and robustness, incorporating the Tech-Deck Face and new bonnet lettering, while referencing familiar Škoda lines.”

The Elroq features advanced LED headlights with a new four-eye design, ensuring maximum visibility and safety. The top-of-the-range LED Matrix beam headlights consist of 36 individual light segments, providing excellent illumination in all conditions.

Inside, the Elroq offers a spacious and modern interior with a 5-inch Digital Cockpit and a 13-inch central infotainment display. The Design Selections emphasize sustainable materials, such as Recytitan fibre, which is made from 78% recycled PET.

The Elroq is built on the Volkswagen Group’s Modular Electrification Toolkit (MEB) and comes in four powertrain variants: Elroq 50, 60, 85, and 85x. These models offer varying battery capacities and power outputs, with the top-tier Elroq 85x featuring all-wheel drive and a peak output of 300 PS (220 kW).

Charging and Range:
All Elroq models support DC fast-charging, with the Elroq 85 and 85x capable of charging at up to 175 kW. This allows the batteries to be charged from 10% to 80% in under 28 minutes. At AC stations, the Elroq models can be fully charged in approximately 5.5 to 8 hours.

Space and Practicality:
Despite its compact size, the Elroq offers 470 litres of boot capacity, expandable to 1,580 litres with the rear seats folded down. Innovative Simply Clever features include an adjustable parcel shelf, additional storage compartments, and a QR code in the boot for quick access to vehicle functions.

Safety and Assistance Systems:
The Elroq comes equipped with advanced safety and assistance systems, including Travel Assist, Intelligent Park Assist, and up to nine airbags. The MyŠkoda app allows owners to control many vehicle functions remotely, including charging and air conditioning.

Škoda’s Commitment to Electric Mobility:
Škoda Auto is committed to investing billions in its transformation towards electric mobility, with a roadmap to increase its share of electrified vehicles. The Elroq marks a significant step in this journey, following the success of the Enyaq and Enyaq Coupé.

With the launch of the Elroq, Škoda Auto is set to redefine the compact SUV segment, offering a perfect blend of design, technology, and sustainable mobility.
