In the fiercely competitive world of electric vehicles (EVs), Renault has made a bold statement with its latest offering, the Scenic E-Tech 100% electric. This innovative SUV, designed to cater to the needs of modern families, has managed to outshine Tesla’s much-acclaimed Model Y in two critical areas: range and price. The Renault Scenic E-Tech is not just another electric vehicle; it’s a game-changer that challenges the very benchmarks set by the EV industry leader.

Innovative Digital Billboard Campaign
Renault’s confidence in the Scenic E-Tech’s superiority is evident in its latest marketing campaign. In a move that has caught the attention of both the automotive world and the general public, Renault UK, in collaboration with Publicis London, has launched a cheeky digital billboard campaign at a popular London charging station. The billboard, strategically placed near Tesla charging points, showcases the Scenic E-Tech’s impressive range and competitive pricing through a dynamic display.

What sets this campaign apart is its reactive nature. The billboard initially features an Auto Express article titled “New Renault Scenic Embarrasses Tesla Model Y on Price and Range.” However, when a Tesla driver approaches, the content switches to playful messages like “This is awkward,” “Elon-ger,” and “You’re probably good at other things.” These messages not only highlight the Scenic E-Tech’s advantages but also inject a dose of humor into the competitive landscape.

Scenic E-Tech: Range and Price that Outshines Tesla
The Renault Scenic E-Tech 100% electric is available in two specifications: Comfort Range and Long Range, with prices starting from £37,495 OTR. The techno Long Range version, priced at £40,995 OTR, boasts a range of up to 379 miles (WLTP) on a single charge. This range surpasses any variant of the Tesla Model Y by over 40 miles, and nearly 100 miles more than Tesla’s entry-level, rear-wheel-drive version. Furthermore, the Scenic E-Tech undercuts the entry-level Model Y’s price by nearly £5,000, making it an attractive option for those looking to make the switch to electric driving without breaking the bank.

The Game Changer Challenging Teslas Dominance

A Family-Friendly Electric SUV with Cutting-Edge Technology
The Renault Scenic E-Tech 100% electric is designed with families in mind. It offers generous space, comfort, and connectivity, ensuring that every journey is both enjoyable and safe. The vehicle is powered by a compact motor, available in two versions: 125kW/170hp and 160kW/220hp. Depending on the variant, the Scenic E-Tech is equipped with either a 60kW or 87kWh battery pack, providing a maximum range of up to 379 miles.

For those seeking versatility, the 87kWh version comes with three trim levels: techno, esprit Alpine, and iconic, catering to a wide range of preferences. The 60kWh Comfort Range model is available exclusively in techno trim, ensuring that even the entry-level option offers a premium experience.

A Marketing Strategy that Mirrors Innovation
Renault’s approach to marketing the Scenic E-Tech 100% electric reflects the vehicle’s innovative spirit. By utilizing digital billboards that react to Tesla drivers, Renault has created a buzz that extends beyond traditional advertising. This campaign is not just about promoting a product; it’s about challenging the status quo and positioning the Scenic E-Tech as a serious contender in the EV market.

Lawrence Hamilton, Head of Marketing Communications, Digital & CRM at Renault UK, emphasizes this point: “The Scenic is a true game-changer, and that is especially evident by the Auto Express article, which recognizes that it beats what has long been the benchmark in its sector in two key areas. This campaign is a great way to spread this message far and wide, being just as innovative and forward-thinking as the Scenic E-Tech 100% electric.”

The Renault Scenic E-Tech 100% electric is more than just a new addition to the EV market; it’s a vehicle that challenges established norms and sets new standards. With its impressive range, competitive pricing, and innovative marketing strategies, the Scenic E-Tech is poised to make a significant impact on the electric vehicle landscape. As the battle for EV supremacy continues, Renault’s latest offering shows that the competition is heating up, and Tesla may need to watch its back.
