Johannesburg – In a compelling display of purpose meeting partnership, Toyota South Africa Motors (TSAM) and Kaizer Chiefs have reignited their Heart on Sleeve initiative for 2024 — an impactful community upliftment campaign that continues to breathe life into the true spirit of giving.
What began on Mandela Day in 2023 as a bold reimagining of sleeve sponsorship has now evolved into a movement rooted in shared values and a deep commitment to social responsibility. In its latest chapter, Heart on Sleeve reached Klipspruit, Soweto — specifically the Kliptown Youth Program (KYP), an organisation synonymous with hope, resilience, and transformation.
This year, the collaboration between TSAM and the Amakhosi saw more than just a donation; it was a delivery of opportunity. Sports equipment, early childhood development materials, laptops, cooking essentials, and first aid kits were handed over, each item symbolising the tools necessary for a thriving future.

“Heart on Sleeve is more than a campaign — it is a commitment,” said Jessica Motaung, Marketing and Commercial Director at Kaizer Chiefs. “Together with Toyota South Africa, we are using the power of our badge to uplift communities, starting with the incredible work being done at the Kliptown Youth Program. This initiative reflects what Kaizer Chiefs stands for: heart, heritage, and hope.”
Founded in one of Johannesburg’s most historically rich yet underserved areas, the Kliptown Youth Program has become a beacon of change. With its emphasis on education, sport, and the arts, KYP equips young people with more than just academic skills — it instills confidence, creativity, and a sense of purpose. It’s a space where dreams are nurtured, and potential is realised.
Through this partnership, Toyota and Kaizer Chiefs aren’t just delivering resources — they’re making a long-term investment in human potential. And in doing so, they are redefining what modern brand collaboration can look like: values-aligned, action-oriented, and people-first.
As TSAM and Kaizer Chiefs continue to drive this initiative forward, they’re not just putting their heart on sleeve — they’re putting it into every handshake, every classroom, every child’s future.
One team. One purpose. One heart on sleeve.
A message stitched not only onto jerseys, but into the very fabric of South African community upliftment.
